Juno in Synastry

In Astrology, Juno represents the “good wife”. According to the myth, Juno was Jupiter’s wife. He cheated on her, yet she still stayed with him, and fulfilled her traditional duties. Think of Juno as the “Eve” of Astrology. Consider Juno as the antithesis of Lilith; Juno is seen as the ‘wife’, while Lilith is seen as the ‘mistress.’ Juno remains loyal and faithful to Jupiter regardless of his indiscretions, while Lilith disallows any man to cross her.

In the natal chart, the house and sign placement of our natal Juno reveals the kind of person we are meant to marry. While Venus and Mars represent our ideal mate, Juno represents loyalty and attachment. Juno represents what we need in a mate, rather than simply who we are attracted to. Many astrologers have gone as far as to say Juno represents our true love or marriage partner.

Juno in Aries: Your partner will be fiery, direct, aggressive, and active.

Juno in Taurus: Your partner will be stubborn, stable, and physically attractive. This aspect can also indicate material prosperity after marriage.

Juno in Gemini: Your partner will be talkative, curious, and intelligent. This aspect sometimes indicates multiple marriages.

Juno in Cancer: Your partner will be sensitive, dependent, and emotional.

Juno in Leo: Your partner will be creative, egotistical, energetic, and full of life.

Juno in Virgo: Your partner will be hard-working, health-conscious, and critical. He might work in the health field.

Juno in Libra: Your partner will be attractive, loving, sociable, and well-mannered.

Juno in Scorpio: Your partner will be sexual, mysterious, and perhaps jealous.

Juno in Sagittarius: Your partner may come from a different locality or cultural background. You may meet your partner abroad. He will be philosophical, honest, and may be interested in higher learning.

Juno in Capricorn: Your spouse will be a corporate type. He might be older, and you may meet him later in your life (after your Saturn Return).

Juno in Aquarius: The partner will be original, independent, logical. You may meet through friends.

Juno in Pisces: Your partner will be dreamy, artsy, and imaginative. Make sure you don’t marry someone simply because you think he needs “help”!

Juno in Synastry

When one person’s Juno is contacted by another person’s planet or point in synastry, a strong attachment is indicated. The planet person represents what the Juno person is looking for in a relationship.

Indeed, Juno often figures strongly in the synastry charts of marriage couples. The conjunction and opposition are the strongest connections, while the trine and sextile are less potent, yet still effective.

 Juno-Ascendant synastry:

The Juno person sees the Ascendant person as their ideal mate. The Ascendant person looks and projects herself how the Juno person envisions their marriage partner. Juno was likely instantly attracted to the Ascendant person.

This is especially true of the conjunction and opposition. Having ones Juno conjunct or opposite another person’s Ascendant is a powerful indication of attraction and compatibility. The trine and sextile aspects are also indicators of attraction.

The square aspect indicates the Ascendant person is not exactly the Juno person’s type. Nevertheless, this aspect indicates a great deal of fascination with each other.

Juno-Sun synastry:

The Sun person’s basic nature expresses the qualities the Juno person is looking for in a partner. The Juno person sees the Sun person as their ideal mate. It is easy for the two of them to commit to each other on a fundamental level.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person admires the Sun person, and sees them as their ideal mate.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Sun person may not be the Juno person’s regular type, but there is a fascination regardless. In the case of the opposition, it can be a case of ‘opposites attract’ in which the Sun person has different, yet complementary qualities that the Juno person looks for in a mate.

In the case of the square, the Juno person is fascinated by the Sun person, even though they are not their regular type. Despite this, there is a lot of attraction towards the Sun person.

Juno-Moon synastry:

The Juno person feels attracted to and comfortable with the way the Moon person expresses their emotions. It is easy for the two of them to commit to one another on an emotional level.

This is especially true of the conjunction, trine, and sextile. The Juno person is in love with the Moon person’s emotional nature.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Moon person may not be the Juno person’s regular type, especially in the way the Moon person expresses their emotions.  In the case of the opposition, it can be a case of ‘opposites attract’ in which the Moon person has different, yet complementary qualities that the Juno person looks for in a mate.

In the case of the square, the Juno person is fascinated by the Moon person, even though they do not express their emotions in a way the Juno person finds deal. Despite this, there is a lot of attraction towards the Moon person.

Juno-Mercury synastry:

The Juno person feels attracted to and comfortable with the way the Mercury person expresses their intellect. It is easy for the two of them to commit to one another on an intellectual level. They love talking about their relationship and planning their future.

This is especially true of the conjunction, trine, and sextile. The Juno person is in love with the Mercury person’s intellectual nature.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Mercury person may not be the Juno person’s regular type, especially in the way the Mercury person expresses their ideas or how they communicate.  In the case of the opposition, it can be a case of ‘opposites attract’ in which the Mercury person has different, yet complementary qualities that the Juno person looks for in a mate.

In the case of the square, the Juno person is fascinated by the Mercury person, even though they do not express their intellect in a way the Juno person finds ideal. The Mercury person might have different ideas on marriage and partnership than the Juno person.

Juno-Venus synastry:

The Juno person’s feelings of commitment are activated by the Venus person, and the Venus person finds an ideal partner in the Juno person. The Juno person feels the Venus person is their ideal mate, and it is easy for them to commit to each other on a romantic level.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person admires the Venus person’s beauty and grace, and sees them as their ideal mate.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Venus person may not be the Juno person’s regular type. They might not appreciate the way the Venus person shows love. In the case of the opposition, it can be a case of ‘opposites attract’ in which the Venus person has different, yet complementary qualities that the Juno person looks for in a mate.

In the case of the square, the Juno person is fascinated by the Venus person. The Venus person is not their regular type, especially in regards to the way they show love and their taste. Despite this, there is a lot of attraction towards the Venus person, for they represent a different type of partner the Juno person is used to.

Juno-Mars synastry:

The Juno person is attracted to the sexual charisma and assertiveness of the Mars person. It is easy for these two to commit to each other sexually. This aspect increases the chances of continuing to have great sex after marriage.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person admires the Mars person, and is in love with their strength and energy.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Mars person may not be the Juno person’s regular type. The Juno person may feel the Mars person does not assert themselves in a way the Juno person finds ideal. In the case of the opposition, it can be a case of ‘opposites attract’ in which the Sun person has different, yet complementary qualities that the Juno person looks for in a mate.

In the case of the square, the Juno person is fascinated by the Mars person, as they challenge the Juno person’s idea of an ideal marriage partner. The Juno person will become more assertive and aggressive after marrying the Mars person.

Juno-Jupiter synastry:

Juno and Jupiter are natural partners for one another. The Jupiter person expands Juno’s desire for commitment and marriage, and feels she has met her match in the Jupiter person. On the downside, the Jupiter person may make the Juno person suspicious of infidelity.

The conjunction of Juno and Jupiter is one of the best Juno Synastry aspects of all. The sextile and trine aspects are also very positive and increases the chances of marriage.

The square and opposition are very powerful, as well. In this case, the Jupiter person may have a different belief system than the Juno person, which could cause issues with formalizing a partnership. There may be a tendency for the partners to encourage wastefulness and excess in each other.

Juno-Saturn synastry:

The Asteroid of marital commitment meets the planet of commitment! Juno feels safe and secure with Saturn. Saturn stimulates Juno’s desire to settle down. As such, it is very easy for them to commit to each other.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person admires the Saturn person’s wisdom and maturity, and see them as someone they can commit to for life.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Saturn person is not the Juno person’s ideal type. The Juno person may find the Saturn person cold and unattached, and may find it difficult to get Saturn to commit to them. There may be barriers to formalizing a commitment.

Juno-Uranus synastry:

The Astroid of marital commitment in aspect to the planet of freedom! The Juno person find the Uranus person’s uniqueness and individuality very attractive. The Uranus person redefine. what the Juno person considers their “type”. The Uranus person shows the Juno person the importance of independence in a relationship.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person finds the Uranus person very exciting and attractive.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Juno person is likely very attracted to the Uranus person, even though the Uranus person is not their regular type at all. The Uranus person challenges the Juno person’s idea of a perfect relationship. Uranus is a rather non-committal planet, so it can indicate open or non-traditional relationships.

Juno-Neptune synastry:

This aspect indicates the union between marital commitment and spirituality. The Juno person is in love with the Neptune person’s dreamy and romantic nature. The Juno person may see the Neptune person as an ideal mate. At the same time. The Juno person must ensure they are not projecting their ideals onto the Neptune person and the relationship.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person admires the Neptune person, and sees them as their ideal mate.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Juno person may feel the Neptune person is their soulmate, but whether or not this is true depends on how clearly the Juno person is seeing the Neptune person. The Juno person might project their ideal mate’s qualities onto the Neptune person, and the Neptune person might play along with this to save the Juno person from disappointment.

Juno-Pluto synastry:

The Pluto person transforms the Juno persons idea of the ideal marriage partner. The Juno person may become obsessed with the idea of marrying the Pluto person. These two take commitment very seriously.

This is especially true for the conjunction, sextile and trine. The Juno person admires the Pluto person, and admires their inner strength and power.

In the case of the square and opposition, the Pluto person may be too forceful in trying to transform the Juno person’s ideas about marriage and commitment.  The Juno person knows what they want, but Pluto is not one to give in to people’s demands. There may be power struggles between the couple.

Juno-North Node synastry:

This is an excellent indication of long term commitment and marriage, given the rest of the synastry is supportive. The couple naturally settles into partnership and feel they are ‘meant to be’ together.

Juno-South Node synastry:

This aspect indicates the couple was likely married in a past life and have reunited in this lifetime to attend to unfinished business. There is a strong sense of familiarity and comfort with each other, and it feels natural to partner together. This could definitely mean this couple will get married (again), but the South Node person may feel the Juno person’s reinforces habits they need to leave behind.  The rest of the synastry chart should be considered, especially any North Node aspects.

Juno-Juno synastry:

Juno in positive aspect to another person’s Juno shows compatibility and similarities in regards to what each partner needs in a relationship. The conjunction is a powerful indication of compatibility, for it shows the couple is looking for the same thing in a relationship and marraige partner.

The sextile and trines are also very positive, as it shows you are both looking for similar qualities in a marriage partner.

The square and opposition indicate your ideas about marriage and partnership are very different. The two of you may be looking for different qualities in a partner and a relationship. This in itself is not a deal breaker, as it is important to consider the entire chart.

It is more important to look at how each person’s Juno aspects the other person’s planets and angles to gauge true compatibility.

According to a study, certain Juno aspects were commonly found in the synastry charts of married couples, including: Juno conjunct North Node, Juno conjunct Juno, Juno trine Venus, and Juno trine Mars.

Examples:

  • My sister and her fiancé have several Juno contacts in Synastry. Her Juno in Libra conjuncts his Sun and Mercury. His Juno in Capricorn conjuncts her Mars.
  • My mother and father (who have been married for over 30 years), have strong Juno aspects in synastry, as well. His Juno conjuncts her Jupiter (a perfect match) and opposes her Mars. Her Juno opposes his Saturn/Mars conjunction.
  • Angelina Jolie’s Juno is conjunct Brad Pitt’s Descendant, and his Juno trines her Venus and Saturn.
  • Paul Newman’s Juno is opposite Joanne Woodward’s Jupiter, and her Juno is conjunct his Venus and Mercury, and opposite his Pluto.

  1. I’m curious about SQUARES with Juno in synastry, as I can’t find much info on those. Everyone talks about the conj./trines/sextiles and even oppositions but nothing on squares! How do you think squares would be felt? I have sun/mars sq. juno dw with a guy, along with his juno trine my moon (though maybe too wide at 4˚) and so far things are okay but there’s a nagging feeling in me that foresees it devolving into a mutually resentful death spiral…

  2. My Juno is conjunct my boyfriend’s Mars in Libra. I admire his actions and his gentle style of romance + desire for peace is something I truly value. The physical aspect of our union is deeply satisfying. His Sag Juno only makes a sextile aspect to my Ascendant, which seems superficial. But I’ve got a few Sag placements including a major 9th house stellium; I’d like to think that compensates for it. We both have Juno in the 8th house.

  3. my Juno conjunct my girlfriend sun/moon/Venus/mercury/Pluto and hers conjunct my mars sextile my moon, opposite my sun, I really do feel like like she’s my soulmate and we have almost all the other aspect u can have double whammy sun sextile moon, my mars trine sun/Venus/Pluto….

  4. when juno (man) conjuncts lilith (woman) what happens?? The man wants the woman as a mistress??

  5. My son has Juno at 25 Scorpio conjunct my Vertex also at 25 Scorpio. I have Lilith exactly conjunct my South Node. My Moon at 0 Libra is conjunct his Vertex also at 0 Libra. I believe, quite seriously and literally that My son was King David and I was his first wife, Michal, in a past life. I find our two charts fascinating from a cultural, historical point of view, when seen in the light of Michal’s marriage to David and our subsequent relationship in this lifetime. I would love for someone to explore this with me.

  6. Hi, I need some help. I would like to know if there’s a possibility that I met this person in my past life.
And is it possible to meet him again in the future and have a relationship with him? We have a mystic rectangle in our synastry touching
the nodes. I mean a rectangle between our North and South Nodes:
NN 20,49 in Pisces, SN 20,49 in Virgo, NN 19,54 in Scorpio, SN 19,54 in Taurus.
    What does it mean?

Besides this his Mars conjuncts my Moon and my Pars Fortune in Gemini.
I know that Mars-Moon connection are very strong and sexual, I feel it too.
Plus his Mars is his ruler and it is in my 1st house!
And also his South Node 19,54 is between my Sun 26,27 and Jupiter 16,3 in Taurus.
    I don’t don’t know it is still a conjunction…

And what is more interesting that his Venus 9,59 and his Neptune 12,49 conjunct in Saggitarius and they are in my 7th house.
Also my Cupido conjuncts with his SN in scorpio (3 degree orb)
And his Juno conjuncts with my SN in Virgo in my 5th house!
What do these mean? It might be a possible relationship/marriage?

  7. Hi, Just wanted to know if my boyfriend is my soulmate based on a synergy chart and in
Particular my Juno in regards to his sun sign. My birthdate is Feb 17 1968 at 430 pm Toronto Canada and his Oct 29 1962 at 4 pm Tel aviv Israel. Thanks xxx
