Eros in Synastry Aspects

The Asteroid Eros represents erotic love. Eros represents what turns us on. Eros represents our passionate and erotic energy and how we use it.

When someone’s planet touches our natal Eros in synastry, it is as if we have been stuck by Cupid’s arrow. We are mesmerized, enchanted, and even obsessed with this person. You want to merge into this individual and build an intimate bond with them.

It is generally thought that when your Eros makes an aspect to another person’s planet or point, you have a big crush on that person, and may even feel obsessed with them.

The conjunction is the most potent aspect, followed by the opposition. The square indicates attraction, but at the same time, friction and frustration.

The trine and sextile are pleasing and harmonious, but the connection is not as intense as it is with the hard aspects.

This relationship will serve to help each person discover their erotic sides. The Eros person may feel obsessed with the Sun person, and the Sun person is turned on by the Eros person’s sexual energy.

Just by being him/herself, the Sun person stimulates the Eros person’s sexual desires and need for intimacy. The Sun person feels more alive and energetic around the Eros person, as Eros puts the Sun person in touch with their most erotic, taboo desires.

This connection combines emotional love with erotic love.

This is a very deep and intimate connection. The Eros person is deeply drawn to the Moon person’s emotional nature.

Eros wants to experience a deep bond with the Moon person, based on emotional sharing and eroticism. The Moon person is deeply turned on by the Eros person’s intensity and sexual charisma. Eros encourages the Moon person to get in touch with their erotic nature, while the Moon person makes the Eros person feel nurtured and understood.

The connection between Eros and Mercury in a synastry chart points to hot and sexy conversations.

These two love to text and sext all day and night. They are turned on by each other’s voices. They love planning sexy scenarios and taking to each other during sex.

This is an indication of an explosive and irresistible attraction. Eros is very drawn to the Venus person’s grace, charm, and beauty, and deeply desires intimacy with them.

Venus is drawn to Eros’ sexual charisma and intensity. Venus’ sensuality turns on the Eros person’s sexual desires and erotic nature.

Eros feels their senses are triggered when the Venus person is around them. This is a highly magnetic bond which borders on the irresistible!

This is one of my favorite Eros aspects.

The god of erotic love meets the planet of sex! This is a very good indication of sexual compatibility. The two of you may be sexually obsessed with one another.

The sex is very satisfying for the both of you. The difference between them is that the Mars person may see the sex as less of an erotic “merging” than the Eros person, but the attraction is nevertheless strong.

Eros’ feelings of love and passion are expanded by Jupiter’s jovial and optimistic nature.

Jupiter shows Eros new ways of sexual expression, while Eros stimulates Jupiter’s desire for intimacy and passion. Eros is happy to have such an open-minded and generous lover.

This connection sometimes indicates a love-hate scenario. The Eros person may feel that the Saturn person refuses to accept the attraction they have for the Eros person.

Eros is nevertheless attracted to the Saturn person’s stability and maturity. Perhaps the Eros finds the Saturn person erotic in a “father figure” or authoritarian sort of way.

This connection is electric and exciting. The Uranus person opens the Eros person’s mind to a variety of sexual possibilities.

At the same time, Eros may feel disappointed when Uranus seems distant and hard to reach, as Eros desires complete intimacy and erotic merging with the Uranus person.

This connection is both erotic and dreamy. As such, the passion and intimacy you share with one another is akin to a fairy tale romance.

The Eros person stimulates the Neptune person’s sexual fantasies, and Eros is drawn to Neptune’s compassionate nature. Neptune intuitively understands what Eros wants and needs in terms of eroticism and intimacy, and gladly provides it.

This is a great aspect, as both Eros and Pluto seek the same things when it comes to relationships: intensity, transformation, and a high level of intimacy.

This is a highly obsessive and explosive union. The two enjoy exploring sexual taboos with one another.

They feel they are fated to be with one another. The attraction is magnetic and irresistible, and the couple might experience dramatic highs and lows throughout their relationship, due to the intensity of feelings involved.

The Eros person takes immediate notice of the Ascendant person. He finds her extremely sexy and physically attractive.

The Ascendant person’s physical appearance triggers the Eros person’s most intense sexual feelings. To the Eros person, the Ascendant person is a personification of sexual intrigue and desire.

Eros square Ascendant:

The Eros person is very attracted to the Ascendant person, yet may at the same time feel that the Eros person is very different than who they are generally attracted to.

Nevertheless, the Eros person’s erotic feelings are stimulated, and the desire is strong.

The Eros person is irresistibly attracted to the Descendant person, while the Descendant person feels the Eros person is the lover of their dreams.

The Eros person’s sexuality and passion are highly attractive to the Descendant person. The Eros person learns more about their sexual power and physical desires through their relationship with the Descendant person.

Eros and Psyche are natural mates. If they are conjunct in synastry, a soul mate connection is indicated. Eros and Psyche were mythical lovers, and were brought together by fate.

The story of Eros and Psyche is one of deep and transformative love, but their union was not devoid of hardship. In fact, the two of them had to go through significant lengths just to be together.

When this aspect shows up in synastry, the relationship is bound to be significant in both their lives, but their relationship may not always be easy.

The many hardships the couple will endure will only draw them closer together. The Psyche person may have dreamed of the Eros person before they even met.

The Eros person finds the Psyche beautiful, not only on the outside, but on the inside, as well; Eros loves Psyche for her soul.

Eros-North Node:

My ex boyfriend and I had this aspect in synastry, and boy was it hot! As the Eros person, he pulled me out of my sexual comfort zone into the depths of true pleasure and intimacy.

Our relationship was highly sexual, and we learned a lot from one another in this department. Him and I were drawn together like magnets. I always felt the sex was getting better and better, even after four years!

I still don’t think we fully discovered one another sexually, even after all that time. I always felt there was so much more to experience with him, and he felt the same way (possibly even more me!).

Eros-South Node:

This is a highly significant aspect. The two of you were likely lovers in a past life. The sex between the two of you is highly erotic, but at the same time comfortable and familiar.

While the potential for growth can be repressed with this aspect, it is nevertheless a very satisfying and magnetic connection.

Eros conjunct Vertex in synastry indicates a fated, karmic bond between the couple. Issues concerning erotic love and sexual connection is of most importance in this relationship. The Vertex person feels a strong attraction to the Eros person, for they feel a sense the fatedness of this relationship.

  1. what about eros conjunct eros with less of 1 degree? 🙂 sign capricorn – house 8 (me) and 3 (he)

  2. His Eros conjuncts my moon, neptune, NN & descendent; oppose my ascendent, venus & south node; trine my jupiter & psyche; sextile my pluto; and square my mars. My Eros conjuncts his sun & ascendent; oppose his descendent; sextile his mars, jupiter & uranus; and square his neptune.

The attraction between us was intense right from the beginning, especially on his part. I’ve never felt so stimulated by someone before not just on a sexual level, but emotional as well. We are one of the best sexual partners we’ve had because it’s not just physical, but emotional as well even though we’ve not progressed to the stage of love, but emotionally we clicked, and sexually we exploded.

  3. Hi,
I know this article has been around for a while, but I’m having trouble understanding how to figure out what planet your partner is to figure out the synastry. Is that in one of the reports you offer? Thanks! 🙂

  4. Anybody interested in an experiment?
I’m male and straight and my Eros is at 01°11′ Pisces.

  5. Excellent article! I have a friend with pluto opposing a venus/mars conjunction and she just turns me on to no end. And yet I have no planets that aspect this opposition of hers. So I have been wondering where the intense sexual chemistry was coming from.

Enter Eros. Her Eros is square this opposition creating a t-square in her chart. And my moon is conjunct her eros. And her moon is conjunct *my* eros.

As it turns out,our moons and eros’ are basically switched. Such that both our moons and eros’ are in sextile to each other.

Can you include a delineation for eros-eros aspects?

  6. I am looking for some information on Eros and Eros in the same sign, if you have any leads?

I have Eros and Psyche in the same sign (Aquarius), so if Psyche is involved, Eros is involved, and vice versa.

    Appreciate your help!

(in which case, Psyche & Psyche in the same sign… I can’t help thinking they might be the equivalent of same-sex relationship dynamics… Psyche x2 might be like a lesbian Love-Affair, and Erosx2, like gay men!)

  7. Asking questions are genuinely good thing if you are
not understanding anything fully, but this article gives pleasant understanding

  8. Pink is Opposites Attract! – Your signs are opposite. You find each other fascinating, frustrating, and intriguing–all at the same time!

  9. I love your article. i’m just having a hard time figuring out how to calculate the aspects. do you think you could email me?

  10. I was wrong. My Mars/Eros conjunct his Venus, opposite his Pluto. I’m getting over him anyway. I think it was a transit making me feel crazy.

  11. We have a scary amount of things in common, so I feel the need to help you out here. I have been told that we often tend to feel strong attractions of some kind toward celebrities because whatever aspects they may have are magnified in a way by whatever role they play in the public eye. I believe that it would also magnify aspects in a synastry chart, and therefore we can feel very strongly connected even though we may never have met or will never meet them. That is why a crush can feel like an obsession, because the aspect seems so much stronger. The feeling, I think, can again be amplified by the knowledge that nothing could ever come from such a crush. It’s kind of a vicious, annoying circle.

  12. My current boyfriend has his Eros in North node or rahu, and he is so hot I cant stand it sometimes being around him just keeps me aroused. He will barely touch me and turns me on. I dont know if our union will last because I always feel its too good to be true but this stuff must be true because we are all over each other.

  13. I also have eros conjunct IC with my girlfriend .. any one has any thoughts on this, I can’t find any interpretation anywhere online. How’s your relationship goes so for Mermaid??

  14. Please let me know if you’re looking for a article author for your weblog. You have some really good posts and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some articles for your blog in exchange
for a link back to mine. Please shoot me an email
    if interested. Kudos!

  15. Why users still use to read news papers when in this technological
globe the whole thing is accessible on web?

  16. Very intriguing post. I am interacting with a guy and his Eros is 2 degrees conjunct my Mars and 4 degrees square my Mercury. I noticed you elected to exclude Eros-Mercury synastry; guess that doesn’t seem like it has erotic potential but from our first contact he’s been confessing his sexual conquests to me — in detail. LOL. I mean, I had to redirect the conversation to other topics. I’ve heard all his seductions and conquests from high school forward to this day — either by oral storytelling or long written emails. I kid you not. So, I guess that’s a manifestation of Eros-Mercury. He doesn’t flirt with me (we’re both in relationships and are just close buddies) but we talk about sex constantly and yes I feel the Eros-Mars will likely burst into an affair in the future if we have a weak moment. .

  17. This is great read, thanks so much! But you forgot Eros-Mercury… how does that play out in synastry? I have an Eros-Mercury opposition with a person and his voice always makes me swoon 😉

  18. This article is spot on. I have a couple Eros aspects with an actor I can’t seem to get over. My Mars/Eros conjunction in Aries is conjunct his Moon, opposite his Pluto (which is conjunct my Vertex). I am starting to realize that it is becoming like an obsession, though I’m not proud of it (maybe that’s due to my mostly earth chart?). Interestingly, we don’t really have many great aspects synastry-wise. I’ve done a lot of research and I think my attraction to him is based on a) these Eros aspects, b) my Sagittarius Venus/Aries Mars always attracting me to air (intelligent, witty) and fire (strong, bold, dominant) signs, and c) I have a mostly earth/fire chart, whereas he has a mostly air/water chart (so I’m instinctively attracted to the aspects of his personality that I feel a lack of in my own?). I don’t know, I’m sort of making all this up from all of my research after endlessly trying to understand this highly emotional need I constantly feel to be near him even though I’ve never met him and I’m not even sure I like him. Isn’t that strange? To feel such a strong emotional bond to someone I’ve never met, and someone whom I’m not even sure I’d get along with if we did meet. I’m feeling quite pathetic about it, really, and would never admit to this obsession even if you throw me in a courtroom with a judge and jury of my peers.

  19. What if someone’s Eros Biquintile my ASC? Does it give the same type of energy similar to a sextile? I haven’t been able to find any info on the quintile/bi-quintile in synastry.
