The Asteroid Eros represents erotic love. Eros represents what turns us on. Eros represents our passionate and erotic energy and how we use it.
When someone’s planet touches our natal Eros in synastry, it is as if we have been stuck by Cupid’s arrow. We are mesmerized, enchanted, and even obsessed with this person. You want to merge into this individual and build an intimate bond with them.
It is generally thought that when your Eros makes an aspect to another person’s planet or point, you have a big crush on that person, and may even feel obsessed with them.
The conjunction is the most potent aspect, followed by the opposition. The square indicates attraction, but at the same time, friction and frustration.
The trine and sextile are pleasing and harmonious, but the connection is not as intense as it is with the hard aspects.
Eros-Sun:
This relationship will serve to help each person discover their erotic sides. The Eros person may feel obsessed with the Sun person, and the Sun person is turned on by the Eros person’s sexual energy.

His Eros conjuncts my moon, neptune, NN & descendent; oppose my ascendent, venus & south node; trine my jupiter & psyche; sextile my pluto; and square my mars. My Eros conjuncts his sun & ascendent; oppose his descendent; sextile his mars, jupiter & uranus; and square his neptune.
The attraction between us was intense right from the beginning, especially on his part. I’ve never felt so stimulated by someone before not just on a sexual level, but emotional as well. We are one of the best sexual partners we’ve had because it’s not just physical, but emotional as well even though we’ve not progressed to the stage of love, but emotionally we clicked, and sexually we exploded.

Excellent article! I have a friend with pluto opposing a venus/mars conjunction and she just turns me on to no end. And yet I have no planets that aspect this opposition of hers. So I have been wondering where the intense sexual chemistry was coming from.
Enter Eros. Her Eros is square this opposition creating a t-square in her chart. And my moon is conjunct her eros. And her moon is conjunct *my* eros.
As it turns out,our moons and eros’ are basically switched. Such that both our moons and eros’ are in sextile to each other.
Can you include a delineation for eros-eros aspects?

I was wrong. My Mars/Eros conjunct his Venus, opposite his Pluto. I’m getting over him anyway. I think it was a transit making me feel crazy.
We have a scary amount of things in common, so I feel the need to help you out here. I have been told that we often tend to feel strong attractions of some kind toward celebrities because whatever aspects they may have are magnified in a way by whatever role they play in the public eye. I believe that it would also magnify aspects in a synastry chart, and therefore we can feel very strongly connected even though we may never have met or will never meet them. That is why a crush can feel like an obsession, because the aspect seems so much stronger. The feeling, I think, can again be amplified by the knowledge that nothing could ever come from such a crush. It’s kind of a vicious, annoying circle.
My current boyfriend has his Eros in North node or rahu, and he is so hot I cant stand it sometimes being around him just keeps me aroused. He will barely touch me and turns me on. I dont know if our union will last because I always feel its too good to be true but this stuff must be true because we are all over each other.

Very intriguing post. I am interacting with a guy and his Eros is 2 degrees conjunct my Mars and 4 degrees square my Mercury. I noticed you elected to exclude Eros-Mercury synastry; guess that doesn’t seem like it has erotic potential but from our first contact he’s been confessing his sexual conquests to me — in detail. LOL. I mean, I had to redirect the conversation to other topics. I’ve heard all his seductions and conquests from high school forward to this day — either by oral storytelling or long written emails. I kid you not. So, I guess that’s a manifestation of Eros-Mercury. He doesn’t flirt with me (we’re both in relationships and are just close buddies) but we talk about sex constantly and yes I feel the Eros-Mars will likely burst into an affair in the future if we have a weak moment. .

This article is spot on. I have a couple Eros aspects with an actor I can’t seem to get over. My Mars/Eros conjunction in Aries is conjunct his Moon, opposite his Pluto (which is conjunct my Vertex). I am starting to realize that it is becoming like an obsession, though I’m not proud of it (maybe that’s due to my mostly earth chart?). Interestingly, we don’t really have many great aspects synastry-wise. I’ve done a lot of research and I think my attraction to him is based on a) these Eros aspects, b) my Sagittarius Venus/Aries Mars always attracting me to air (intelligent, witty) and fire (strong, bold, dominant) signs, and c) I have a mostly earth/fire chart, whereas he has a mostly air/water chart (so I’m instinctively attracted to the aspects of his personality that I feel a lack of in my own?). I don’t know, I’m sort of making all this up from all of my research after endlessly trying to understand this highly emotional need I constantly feel to be near him even though I’ve never met him and I’m not even sure I like him. Isn’t that strange? To feel such a strong emotional bond to someone I’ve never met, and someone whom I’m not even sure I’d get along with if we did meet. I’m feeling quite pathetic about it, really, and would never admit to this obsession even if you throw me in a courtroom with a judge and jury of my peers.

What if someone’s Eros Biquintile my ASC? Does it give the same type of energy similar to a sextile? I haven’t been able to find any info on the quintile/bi-quintile in synastry.
