Lottery wins are usually attributed to the 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th houses, the planets in these houses, and their rulers. The 2nd house represents wealth and material possessions; the fifth house represents the lottery and gambling; the 8th house represents unearned money and other people’s money; the 11th house rules accumulated wealth and fluctuating money gains.
To determine whether someone will win the lottery, it must be first indicated in the natal chart.
Pluto in aspect to 2nd House
- Natal Pluto in hard aspect (conjunction, opposition, square) to your 2nd house ruler
- Pluto in the 2nd house (as long as it is well aspected)
- Pluto in hard aspect to planet(s) in 2nd house
It is very common to see Pluto in conjunction or hard aspect to the 2nd house in lottery winner charts. Pluto is the planet of extremes and deep transformation, so when it is in aspect to the ruler of your 2nd house, it can indicate a huge financial change at some point in your life.
Uranus in aspect to 2nd or 8th Houses
- Natal Uranus in hard aspect (conjunction, opposition, square) to your 2nd or 8th house ruler
- Uranus in the 2nd or 8th house
- Uranus in hard aspect to planet(s) in 2nd or 8th house
It is very common to see Uranus, the planet of sudden, unpredictable events and suprises, in aspect to the 2nd and 8th house. These aspects can create a sudden financial change at some point in your life.
Venus and Jupiter in the money houses
If you have Pluto in aspect to your 2nd house, check out where your Venus and Jupiter land in your chart. I commonly see Venus or Jupiter in the 8th and 11th houses in the charts of lottery winners.
The 8th house represents windfalls and gifts, and Venus and/or Jupiter represent money and luck, so this placement is frequently seen in the charts of lottery winners. It is also very common to see Venus/Jupiter in the 8th house of people who marry wealthy spouses.
The 11th house represents wealth and big gains, so its placement in the 11th house is very powerful. I generally consider Jupiter in the 11th house to be very lucky when it comes to money in general (as long as the rest of the birth chart agrees).
Venus/Jupiter in the 2nd and 5th houses are also good indications of wealth, especially if Jupiter is the ruler of one of the financial houses.
Aspects to look out for:
- Venus/Jupiter in the 2nd house
- Venus/Jupiter in the 5th house
- Venus/Jupiter in the 8th house (very strong indicator of wealth if well-aspected)
- Venus/Jupiter in the 11th house (very strong indicator of wealth if well-aspected)
Other Planets in the 2nd house
It is not uncommon to see one or several planets in the second house of a lottery winner’s natal chart.
If the ruler of the 5th, 8th, or 11th houses is in your 2nd house, this is a good indication that you will receive money through speculative activities or through a windfall.
How these planets are aspected is extremely important, as well. As said before, a hard aspect from Pluto to a 2nd house planet can indicate a big financial transformation.
Aspects to look out for:
- Planets in the 2nd house, especially Pluto, Jupiter, North Node, 8th house ruler, 5th house ruler, 11th house ruler
Timing of Win
If you have indicators of a major financial change in your life (namely, Pluto in aspect to your 2nd house), you can use transits and progressions to determine when this change will occur. Look for:
- Outer planets and Nodes transiting your 2nd or 8th houses (especially Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto)
- Progressed planets setting off money factors in your natal chart
Some examples are below.
Example 1:
Natal Chart
This Lucky Winner has their Pluto in the 2nd house of finances and material possessions, meaning they will go through a major financial transformation in their life. Even more, Pluto makes an exact opposition to their natal Venus and Jupiter in the 8th house, which indicates luck in finances, inheritance, and windfalls!
Progressions
Check out these Progressions. The most important was her progressed Jupiter at 17 degrees conjunct her natal 8th house Venus and opposite her 2nd house Pluto. As I mentioned earlier, her Venus-Pluto opposition in the 2nd/8th house indicates a major change in her financial life. Progressed Jupiter ‘set off’ this aspect at the time of her win. In addition, progressed Moon and Neptune were also at 17 degrees, further triggering this natal promise.
Example 2:
Natal Chart
This winner’s chart is another great example of a ‘lucky’ natal chart.
The ruler of their 2nd house, the Moon, is opposite Pluto, which indicates a huge financial change at some point in this person’s life.
Uranus, the planet of unpredictable and sudden events, lies in their 2nd house of finances.
In addition, Jupiter is also located in their 8th house, which indicates abundance and luck in the house of unearned wealth and gifts.
Also, the ruler of their 11th house, Neptune, is in the 5th house, and is conjunct the South Node. This is another indication that this person’s fate has much to do with finances and wealth.
Example 3:
In this winner’s chart, we see a 2nd house full of planets: Moon conjunct Part of Fortune, Mars conjunct Mercury(the ruler of the 8th and 11th house), and Pluto conjunct Sun. Given the packed nature of this house, along with Pluto, gives us an indication that this person will undergo a huge financial change in their life.
Pluto in the 2nd house is also square the Vertex, the point of fate.
When this person won the lottery, transiting Jupiter was in their 8th house, opposing their 2nd house planets. In addition, transiting Pluto was square their natal Sun in the 2nd house.
In addition, there was a Saturn-Uranus opposition at that time, which fell in their 2nd/8th house axis. It is no surprise such a sudden, transformative event took place that day!
Example 3:
Natal Chart
This winner had many natal aspects and placements that indicated financial success.
First, they have the North Node conjunct Sun and Mercury (the ruler of the 8th house) in the 2nd house, which indicates the a huge focus on financial progress. The 8th house has to do with unearned wealth and gifts, so its conjunction to the 2nd house North Node indicates a fated pull towards wealth.
The ruler of their 2nd house, Jupiter, is conjunct Pluto. Again, this is a very important indication of a huge financial change at some point in this person’s life.
Progressions:
This person’s Jupiter/Pluto conjunction was exact at the time of the win. If you have an aspect from Pluto to your 2nd house ruler, check your progressions to determine when the aspect will come within half a degree. This can trigger the money-related event in your chart.
In addition, Mars was conjunct this person’s progressed North Node in the 2nd house, which is an excellent indicator of action and progress around money and finances.
Transits:
When this person won the lottery, transiting North Node was conjunct their 2nd house Mercury (while rules their 8th and 11th houses).
Example 5:
Another lucky winner has Moon in the 2nd house conjunct her Uranus and Jupiter in her 1st house. The Moon rules her 11th house of accumulated wealth and money fluctuations. In addition, Jupiter-Uranus aspects in the natal chart can indicate a lottery winner; Jupiter represents wealth and abundance, while Uranus represents sudden, unexpected events.
Her natal Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct her South Node. This means that luck and surprise are ingrained in her life. Individuals with Jupiter on the South Node, in my opinion, are incredibly lucky. Because surprise and luck are so “normal” for them, their luck tends to be more significant than the luck of others.
The day of her win, transiting Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance, was conjunct her natal Saturn, the ruler of her 5th house of risk-taking and gambling. In addition, transiting Neptune was square her natal Saturn; Setting off this transit was transiting Sun was opposite her natal Jupiter/Uranus/Moon conjunction. Transiting Mars was exactly conjunct her natal Mars- ruler of her 8th house of “unearned wealth”. Transiting Venus, the planet of material wealth, was square her MC, thrusting her into the spotlight. Transiting North Node was trine her Mars, signifying a nudge towards her destiny, as they relate to fifth house activities. Transiting Uranus was exactly on her Vertex, indicating a sudden, fated event.
Transiting NN was conjunct her progressed Mercury in the 11th house. This, in addition to her other North Node transits and strong Nodal connections in her birth chart, indicates she was being pulled forward towards her 11th house goals.
Example 6:
Another lucky winner has her natal Jupiter in her 11th house of accumulated wealth and money fluctuations. The ruler of her 11th house, the Sun, is square the ruler of her 5th house, Uranus. Indeed, Uranus on the cusp of the 5th can indicate unexpected gains through risk-taking activities such as gambling. Her natal Uranus is also trine her 11th house Jupiter, the planet of wealth and abundance. Her natal chart also features a Sun-POF opposition.
The day of her win, transiting Sun was conjunct her natal MC and opposite her Part of Fortune. Transiting Saturn was conjunct her natal Jupiter in the 11th house of accumulated wealth. Transiting Saturn was also trine her natal Uranus, the ruler of her 5th house. Uranus was trine her natal Sun, ruler of her 11th house, indicating sudden surprises and unexpected events related to accumulated wealth. In addition, transiting Uranus was also conjunct her natal North Node, indicating sudden, unexpected events.

Wow! I have natal Uranus and Moon in the 2nd, Venus rules the 2nd and Moon rules the 11th. Saturn rules the 5th. Uranus rules the 6th and in 2 weeks I’ll have an Aquarian stellium of 6 planets in the 6th! My natal Mars and North Node are in the 6th and Mars rules the 8th. I’ve never won anything big in the lottery. Only a few small amounts under $10. Will definitely play in 2 weeks. Do I buy the lotto ticket on the day(s) of the lucky transits or is it more important that the lucky transits land on the day of the drawing?
