Amanda & West Astrology

If you’re a Bravo fan, you have probably heard about the Amanda/West/Ciara ‘scandal’. I was very curious to see the synastry between Amanda and West, as I wanted to see whether this relationship actually has the potential to go the long run. I also previously wrote an article about Scandoval, and was curious to see if there were any similarities between them.

In this article, I will do a brief overview of Amanda and West’s natal, synastry, and composite charts.

I do not have birth times for either person, so my reading and ultimate opinions on their relationship will be solely based on their planetary aspects and therefore incomplete. I’m also going to leave out aspects involving each person’s Moon since their birth times are not available.

Amanda’s Natal Chart

Amanda Batula’s Natal Chart

Amanda Batula’s Natal Chart

Amanda has her Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter in creative and charismatic Leo. She is strongly self-expressive and is motivated by recognition, pride, and making an impact. Leo’s tend to like, and receive, a lot of attention and admiration from others. She might struggle with over-identifying with success and validation, and may struggle with sensitivity to criticism or feeling invisible.

Amanda’s Sun is opposite her Saturn in Aquarius, meaning her inner critic is very strong. While she strongly desires recognition, she might hold herself back if she doesn’t feel ‘good enough.’ Early experiences with strict authority figures may have made her feel she constantly needs to prove herself to others. Her tendency to take herself very seriously can block her confidence.

Her Venus and Mars are conjunct in Virgo, meaning she is attracted to competence, intelligent, and usefulness in others. Virgo is the sign of work and productivity, so it makes sense that she and Kyle, her ex-husband, were in business together.  She is attentive to detail in how she cares for others, and might have a strong abilty to improve or ‘fix’ things in her relationships.

Her love language is ‘acts of service’, and shows her affection through practical support. She might have high expectations from herself and her partners, which can turn into criticism of herself and others. She overanalyzes her relationships to the point she has difficulty relaxing until everything feels ‘perfect’ or safe.

West’s Natal Chart

West Wilson’s Natal Chart

West has a stellium of Sun, Mercury, and Venus in chatty and curious Gemini. West is a highly social and expressive person who loves communication and variety. He thrives of ideas, mental stimulation, and connection. Adaptable and flexible, he loves going out and meeting new people and exploring new environments. He gets bored easily, so he likes to stay on the go.

In love, he needs mental stimulation, conversation, and variety. He likes witty, interesting, and humorous people. He needs a mental connection with his partner above everything else. Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance, is opposite his Venus, meaning he has the ability to attract many opportunities in love, but has difficultly focusing on one. He struggles with overpromising, idealizing, and saying yes too easily. He struggles between wanting freedom and connection, creating inconsistencies in his relationships.

Mars in Virgo is square West’s Venus in Gemini, creating a tension between wanting consistency and getting bored easily. While he is attracted to intelligent and witty people, he is also quick to see their flaws. Virgo wants to ‘fix’ things, and Gemini wants freedom and variety, resulting in mixed signals in dating. What he says he wants vs. what he does do not always align.

Like Amanda, West also has a strong connection between his Sun and Saturn, which in his case is a square. This can create a feeling of being judged, misunderstood, or not taken seriously (especially when it comes to expressing his thoughts and ideas). He may have had early experiences of criticism or responsibility that shaped his self-confidence. He may struggle with self-criticism and a need to ‘prove’ himself, which may be tied to early experiences with a strict authority figure (like a father).

Amanda and West Synastry

Amanda and West’s Synastry Chart

Main Aspects

West’s Uranus is opposite Amanda’s Sun

This aspect points to an electric and unstable connection where Amanda is both fascinated and unsettled by West’s unique and unpredictable energy. Amanda might feel West is ‘different from anyone else,’ finding his company exciting and exhilirating. At the same time, Amanda might find West unpredictable and hard to depend on, especially over time.  She might feel he brings an ‘on-off’ energy to her life, which feels both fun and unstable.

West’s Neptune is opposite Amanda’s Sun

Neptune is the planet of illusions, dreams, and fantasy, so when it is in opposition to someone else’s Sun, it can create confusion and idealization in a relationship if the couple is not clear about their intentions. Amanda may not see West clearly (or vice-versa), as one or both of them strongly project their fantasies onto each other. On one hand, this can feel very romantic, with one or both partners feeling they have found their dream person.

At the same time, things can also feel unclear and misleading. There may be a tendency to misread each other’s intentions, with one person feeling the relationship is more ‘real’ than the other.  Often, hard Neptune aspects can end in disappointment when one or both partners realize the relationship was not what they thought it was.

Amanda’s Virgo Venus is square West’s Gemini Venus

This aspect represents a tension between each person’s ‘love language.’ Amanda wants someone consistent, helpful, detail-oriented, and who puts in effort. West, on the other hand, wants variety, mental stimulation, and conversation. Amanda might feel West is inconsistent and not serious enough, while West might find amamda too critical and intense.  This can create tension in a relationship, with each person feeling unappreciated and confused.

Amanda’s Virgo Mars is conjunct West’s Virgo Mars

The conjunction between Amanda and West’s Mars placements indicates they operate in a similar way when it comes to taking action and getting things done. They have a very similar work ethic and pace, creating a natural teamwork between them. When working together, they can be very productive because they ‘get’ each other’s approach without much explanation. At the same time, all that Virgo energy can lead to clashes if they become overly critical of one another, or focus too much on what is wrong instead of what is working.

West’s Jupiter is square Amanda’s Venus and Mars

This aspect creates a strong attraction and chemistry, where Amanda looks at West as a source of fun, adventure and excitement. They certainly have a lot of fun together. At the same time, West idealizes Amanda and their relationship, but in the midst of the excitement, might make promises he can’t keep or create unrealistic expectations. He says ‘yes’ very readily, before thinking things through. Above all, Amanda needs consistency and reliability in her relationship, but West might struggle to meet her expectations. She might feel he lacks follow-through, creating tension betwen them.

Amanda’s Mercury is square West’s Pluto

Amanda and West enjoy deep, intense, and possibly obsessive mental connection. Through conversation, they are able to uncover hidden truths about each other, creating a powerful emotional and psychological understanding. At the same time, they might experience power struggles in communication, with one person (West) trying to dominate or control the narrative. There may be a tendency to overanalyze or read too much into words, leading to difficultly letting things go once discussed. Debates and discussions can become intense or personal quickly

Amanda and West Composite Chart

The composite chart, known as the ‘relationship chart,’ shows the purpose and direction of the relationship. This one is a doozy…

It certainly shows very strong planetary action with a T-square featuring several planets. Most notably, there is a Uranus/Neptune opposition to a Sun/Mercury/Venus conjunction, all of which are square Jupiter. This points to a relaltionship that is both disruptive, exciting, and unstable (Uranus), but also idealistic, dreamy, but potentially unrealistic (Neptune, Jupiter).

The conjunction between Sun, Mercury and Venus shows that West and Amanda really like each other and share a natural connection. There is easy conversation and attraction here.

However, the opposition from  Uranus, and Neptune is where things can destabilize and make things feel out of sync. Uranus brings an on-off energy, where sudden changes and unpredictability can make it difficult to stabilize the relationship. One or both partners might struggle with consistency and commitment, feeling trapped or smothered by the expectations from the other. These kinds of relationships tend to start very quickly and under bizarre circumstances, and end in a similar way.

Neptune adds idealization and projection. One or both partners might have unrealistic expectations of the relationship, or might see their partner as someone perfect and ideal (even though they are not). There might be confusion about what the relationship actually is and where it is going, often due to mixed signals or even outright lies.  One or both parter might fill in gaps with assumptions about the relationship rather than facts. One or both partners might see the relationship as more special, spiritual or destined that is objectively is. Red flags are ignored and major issues are swept under the rug. Hard Neptune aspects often end in disappointment when reality hits and the couple realizes their relaitonship was not what they believed it to be.

Overall, this composite chart points to a strong attraction that feels exciting, different, and dreamy. Over time, however, it can become an emotional rollercoaster if both partners are not honest and direct with each other. There may be periods of closeness followed by distance and confusion. There is a tendency to see what they want to see, rather than what is.  Awareness and honesty are paramount in this relationship.

So will it last?

Based on the planetary alignment alone, I do not think so. Of course, I cannot be 100% sure without their birth times, but their aspects are telling. The relationship seems like it’s based in fantasy, thrills, and excitement rather than something ‘real’ or stable.
