Will My Ex Come Back? How to Use Astrology to Find Out

I am asked this question constantly by my readers and friends. It is not an easy question to answer, but there are some ways to show your ex may come back into your life.

Astrology is all about timing. When a person enters and exits your life is ‘written in the stars’. Plenty of people come back together after time apart, while others stay out of your life for good.

Do retrogrades cause breakups?

I find that a lot of my readers break up during a retrograde. Retrogrades are a time of reviewing and reassessing, so it makes sense that breakups happen during this time. Permanent breakups will usually feature a strong outer planet transit, as well.

I’ve heard from many astrologers that the couple is likely to get back together once the retrograde is over. This can be true, but it really depends.

For example, a friend of mine break up with her boyfriend during Mars retrograde. Mars was retrograde in her 7th house, which is a very good indication that she would experience some relationship difficulties during this time. She called me in a panic, and said she was scared he would be gone forever. I took a look at her chart and saw the retrograde in her 7th house, but I didn’t notice any major transits or progressions that would point to a huge break up.

After the retrograde was over (literally the day after), they got back together. It seems as though he needed a break from the relationship for a few weeks to reassess and review if this was a relationship he wanted to pursue further.  That is just how retrogrades work.

On the other hand, I had a major breakup during Venus retrograde many years ago. In this case, I was the one to break up with him. In my own chart, transiting retrograde Saturn was in square aspect to my natal Venus, which is a classic indication of a breakup.

All in all, I do not believe retrogrades themselves can bring permanent breakups, but they are likely to trigger a separation if you already have a ‘break up’ transit happening at the same time. If not, there is a good chance you will get back together after the retrograde is over.

Will the retrograde bring my ex back?

Exes usually come back during a retrograde.

This is especially true if you have a retrograde planet transiting your  5th house, 7th house, or your 5th or 7th house ruler.

Inner planet retrogrades, like Mercury, Venus, and Mars, are very impactful when retrograding in these houses.

  • When a planet goes retrograde in your 5th house, someone you dated from the past may come back into the picture. This might give you and this person a second chance at a relationship.
  • When a planet goes retrograde in your 7th house, a former romantic partner might reappear. The two of you have the chance to reassess your relationship, and you might even decide to get back together.
  • If a retrograde planet transits your 5th or 7th house ruler, a former partner might also reappear. The 5th and 7th house rulers are linked to romance and love, so a transiting retrograde might ignite a reunion with a former flame.

It is important to also check the location of the new moon or full moon that occurs during the retrograde. These lunations, paired with a retrograde, often point to reunions with exes:

  • A new or full moon in the 1st, 5th, or 7th houses
  • A new or full moon in aspect to the 5th or 7th house ruler

The lunation and the retrograde work together to bring you back together with your former love.

Will we stay together?

The permanence of a relationship like these can be under question, given that you’ve separated before. There are several synastry aspects that point to multiple separations and reunions.

Synastry connections that indicate breakups and reunions

There are a few synastry connections that point to on-off relationships

Inner planets (especially Venus) in square aspect to Uranus

When you see a connection like this in a synastry chart, it points to an unpredictable and erratic relationship. In this relationship, there may be plenty of breakups and reunions, or hot-cold energy between the couple.

The Uranus person is likely to bring this energy to the relationship. When the Venus person gets too close or dependent on the Uranus person, the Uranus person feels suffocated and restricted and pulls away.  The Uranus person eventually ends up missing the Venus person and reunites with them, only to pull away again for the same reasons as before.

I find that Sun, Moon and Mars in aspect to Uranus indicate an on-off energy as well. Same goes for Uranus in aspect to another person’s 7th house ruler.

Planets conjunct the South Node

When one person’s planets (particularly personal planets like Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars) is conjunct another person’s South Node, the couple shares a past-life connection. The connection they have is comfortable and familiar, as they have met in previous lives.

This connection tends to keep two people together for a long time. Over time, however, the South Node person, while comfortable, may feel stifled by the relationship. At the same time, the planet person may feel drained by the relationship, for they feel they are constantly ‘giving’ in the relationship.

Despite these issues, the sense of comfort and familiarity may lead these two to reunite over and over. Depending on the rest of the synastry chart (and natal charts), these two may stay together forever, or may eventually break up.

Planets conjunct the North Node

This aspect indicates these two are meant to learn from and grow with each other. The Node person particularly feels a sense of destiny and fate in this relationship, for the planet person acts like a guide for the Node person to realize their full potential.

This can be quite exhilarating, or frightening, depending on the person’s relationship with their North Node. The planet person brings the North Node person out of their comfort zone and challenges them to learn and grow.

As a result of this, the Node person may pull away from the planet person out of fear of change. They may feel very settled in their South Node qualities and be resistant to any type of transformation.

However, as the planet person matures. the pull of the North Node may be too strong to ignore. The Node person knows the planet person is ‘good’ for them, so they may end up reuniting with the planet person over and over.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we must look at the synastry connections and transits of a couple to determine whether they have the potential to get back together:

  • In synastry, check for harsh Uranus aspects and Nodal connections. These often point to couples who break up and get back together frequently.
  • As for timing, look for retrogrades of Mercury, Venus, Mars in the 5th or 7th house or in aspect to the 5th or 7th house ruler.

A significant change to your daily routine may occur at this time. This is a time of hard work. If you have withstood abuse at work, you will likely address it at this time.

If Pluto rules, or is situated in your 7th house, a relationship may be solidified. Or, unequal power in a relationship may lead you to  break off your current relationship. You are unwilling to compromise power at this time.

If Pluto rules, or is situated in your 8th house, a death of someone close to you may occur. This transit can indicate financial austerity. A time of inner psychological cleansing is indicated.

If Pluto rules, or is situated in your 9th house, a transformation of your worldview is likely to take place. A loss of faith may occur as a result of this transit.

If Pluto rules, or is situated in your 10th house, changes to your career or social status are likely to occur. This is a time of hard work and perseverance as it relates to your career. The opportunity to make enormous strides at work is likely. However, this transit can also indicate a loss of power or prestige if you have behaved unethically in the past.

If Pluto rules, or is situated in your 12th house, you may experience an increased need for solitude. This is a great time to get in touch with your inner self. Secrets and hidden truths in regards to sex and money may surface as a result of this transit.

When Transiting Uranus aspects your natal Venus…

…you crave excitement in your relationships. Uranus often brings us non-traditional relationships/partners (i.e. partners from a different culture, background, etc.), which usually begin (and end) very suddenly.

Timing Uranus transits is very simple, as events tend to occur at the time Uranus makes an exact aspect to your Venus (by exact, I mean the aspect is within 11 minutes of exact).

Uranus-Venus relationships are characterized as sudden, impermanent, non-traditional, and exciting. What usually happens is a sudden encounter with the “person of your dreams”, and the native often experiences “love at first sight”.

The energy between the two is electric and exciting, but not stable, and the relationship often lacks any real commitment. Uranus transits serve to jolt us awake through events that force us to throw out any previous behaviors or habits we tend to cling to. This is especially true for emotionally clingy, needy people, or people who are inherently stable and afraid of change.

Uranus relationships are difficult to control, and manipulative tactics are completely useless in getting what we want out of the relationship. The native must learn to “let go” of expectations and control, or he or she will suffer greatly from this transit.

Because Uranus is characterized by impermanence and excitement, many find that relationships begun under this influence often end when the initial spark fizzles and one of the partners gets bored and feels the need to move on.

Sometimes, when the transit is over, the native may say, “what was I thinking, being in that relationship?” due to the fact that partners are generally chosen for the fact that they are “different” and “exciting”, rather than suitable, which becomes more and more apparent as Uranus moves away from their natal Venus.

This period can also be marked by increased promiscuity on the part of the native. Uranus on one’s Venus increases one’s magnetism, so the likelihood of meeting several partners increases.

A good friend of mine characterised her Uranus opposite Venus transits as: “Lots of one-night stands, and lots of partying.”  This is especially true with the conjunction, square and opposition. Sextiles and trines are generally more stable influences, but have that Uranian spark to them nonetheless.

The partners you find under this transit are generally Aquarius or Uranian, or the syanstry or composite charts have strong Aquarian/Uranian influences.

In my personal experience with these transits, they can definitely bring love to your life. I met both of my long-term boyfriend when transiting Uranus was sextile my natal Venus. He was an Aquarius (no surprise there). The relationship did not work out in the long run due to external barriers in our relationship.

When transiting Uranus was square my natal Venus, I developed a crush on my boss, who was not my regular type at all. I knew I would never actually date him, but I felt such a strong attraction to him and could not control it. Looking back, I’m still shocked I ever had a ‘crush’ on him at all.

I also had some other short-term relationships during the Uranus square Venus transit, including someone who lived in another city. This man was much older than me, but I found our differences interesting. In the end, I left him. Similar to the situation with my boss, there was no way I’d ever be in a serious relationship with him. I was very non-committal at the time.

Check which house Venus rules in your chart in order to get a better idea of how the transit will manifest.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 1st house, changes to your physical appearance and the way you project yourself to the world are likely to occur. This is usually a time of increased popularity. Your personal magnetism is at all all-time high, so take advantage of it!

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 2nd house, changes to your financial system and values are likely to occur. Your finances may be erratic and unpredictable during this time. You may become more carefree in regards to finances at the moment.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 3rd house, changes to your communication style, or relationships with your siblings, neighbors, or relatives may occur. A sudden interest in poetry or writing may manifest at this time.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 4th house, changes to your living situation or family are likely to occur. You may dramatically re-decorate your home during this cycle.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 5th house, sudden changes to your love life are likely to occur. Relationships are fresh, new, and exciting, but tend to be unpredictable and erratic.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 6th house, sudden changes in your work environment are likely to occur. Perhaps your work schedule will become unpredictable or erratic. This transit can also indicate sudden changes to your health.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 7th house, changes involving your one-on-one relationships are likely to occur. Particularly in the case of the conjunction, square, or opposition, a relationship may suddenly exit and/or enter your life.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 8th house, changes to your shared resources may occur. Sudden windfalls are likely. You may also become more attracted to sexual taboos. A sudden death of someone close to you may occur.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 9th house, you may suddenly decide to go back to school. Alternatively, you may suddenly decide to embark on a long-term trip to an exotic place. Your religious belief system is likely to undergo a radical change, as well.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 10th house, changes to your career or social status are likely to undergo changes. This is a time of increased public popularity and recognition.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 11th house, changes to your circle of friends may occur. Long-term friendships may suddenly end, or you may become friends with an unusual bunch of people. This is a time of increased social popularity.

If Venus rules, or is situated in your 12th house, you may become involved in a secret relationship.

Short-Terms transits:

Inner planet transits are short-term and fleeting, but can pack a punch, especially if you are experiencing other sexual transits at the time.

Venus in aspect to your natal Mars: When the planet of love and beauty contact your planet of sex, your powers of attraction are very high! Your raw, aggressive, Martian nature is toned down, and your attractiveness is heightened. Under this transit, you are likely to be dominated. Passion and romance are favored during this transit. This is especially true of the conjunction, trine, and sextile. The square and opposition can be tricky, as the transit can indicate tension and challenges when it comes to satisfying both your romantic and physical needs. Members of the opposite sex might come on too strong at this time. Nevertheless, it’s a sexy transit.

Mars in aspect to your natal Venus: During this transit, the planet of sex aspects your planet of love, increasing your aggressiveness and powers of attraction. You are sexy, confident, and self-assured during this transit. You are less inhibited, which adds a lot of spice to your sex life. You may be more direct and assertive during this transit, and you are likely to be dominating one in bed. Be careful- you might develop sexual feelings for just about everyone you meet during this transit!

Venus in aspect to Pluto: Your sexual desires are stimulated during this period! You feel passionate, sexy, and confident. Through sex, you may experience a deep level of intimacy with your partner. Sex is a lot more intimate, deep, and passionate under this influence. You might enjoy dominating your partner, or being dominated by your partner in bed.

Mars transits your natal Pluto: Pluto is the higher octave of Mars, so when these two planets meet, sexual fireworks are in store for you and your partner. Unlike transits involving Venus, this transit does not involve cuddling and affection. Instead, this transit infuses your sex life with a “I want to rip your clothes off and destroy you” energy. Hot!

Long-term transits

Pluto transits your natal Venus: This transit stimulates your desire for both love and physical expressions of love. Sexual activities are definitely favored at this time! You’ll notice the sex you have during this transit is spicy hot, as well as intimate and transformative. You reach new depths of pleasure with your partner. With the hard transits (conjunctions, squares, oppositions), you may explore sexual taboos with your partner. One of you may want to dominate the other, sexually, so teacher-student/master-slave role-playing might be something you explore under this influence.

Pluto transits your natal Mars: This transit intensifies and stimulates your sexual energies. During this time, you may become obsessed with sexual taboos and other “forbidden” sexual acts you were never drawn to before. With you partner, you want to explore the depth of your sexuality. In fact, you may find yourself obsessed with a certain sexual relationship during this time; either you’ll meet someone new, or your existing sexual relationship will deepen. Your passion and sexual energies are strong during this time.

Pluto transits your natal Pluto: When the planet of sexual energy touches your Pluto, a revitalization of your sexual energies is indicated. This transit signified “real sex”; you and your partner experience the “higher meaning” of sexual expression under this transit. Through sex, you and your partner evolve during this transit, and the sex you experience serves to bring you closer to each other. This is one of the most intense sexual periods of your life.

Similar to the conjunction, trine, and sextile, transiting Jupiter is square or opposite aspect to your natal Mars indicates increased enthusiasm, energy, and confidence.

However, there may be an abundance of options, making you feel directionless. This is a time when you are “on the go”; numerous activities fill your life. As a result, you can end up exhausted!

Also, your enthusiasm for accomplishing several activities at once can lead you to start, but not finish, many tasks. You stretch to your limits during this time, which can make your life spiral out of control if you are not careful.

In addition, you may tend to “jump in” to activities without proper foresight. Your sexual energies are likely to be super-charged during this transit, so have fun!

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 1st house, you are likely to experience increased confidence and assertiveness. Hard transits can indicate an overbearing and aggressive attitude.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 2nd house, you may experience financial success. Hard transits can indicate significant financial gains or losses. Be careful with reckless spending.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 3rd house, your relationships with relatives may improved. In addition, your communication and thinking processes may be more forceful and aggressive.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 4th house, your home life and relationship with your parents is improved. Hard transits can indicate conflict between family members.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 5th house, your social and romantic life will improve during this time. You may meet someone new.

The hard transits indicate an unstable romantic life, and partners who promise more than they can deliver. Beware of an inflated ego at this time.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 6th house, you may become increasingly focused on your work and health. You may take on a new diet or exercise regimen. Health and work are positive at this time. Be careful to avoid physical exhaustion.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 7th house, a new relationship may enter your life, or your current relationship will be strengthened. If this is a hard aspect, your partner may desire more freedom, or may become overbearing.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 8th house, sexual opportunities may pop up! Beware of overspending. This transit can also indicate a sudden windfall.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 9th house, you may have the opportunity for travel or higher learning. If this is a hard aspect, you may experience a crisis of faith, or become part of an extreme religious group. Watch out for the tendency of appearing “holier than thou” to others.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 10th house, changes to your career or social status are likely to improve. You may receive a promotion during this time. Hard aspects indicate a time where you promise too much to your superiors. Obstacles to success may manifest during this time.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 11th house, you bring energy into your social circle. Your personal popularity may increase. Hard transits can indicate a chaotic social life.

If Mars rules, or is situated in your 12th house, you may experience an increased need for solitude. This is a great time to get in touch with your inner self, and what you really want from your life.

Saturn Through the Houses: A Complete Guide

Saturn transits are often associated with periods of increased responsibility, discipline, restriction, and self examination. Wherever Saturn travels through your chart, you are encouraged to slow down, become more realistic, and take greater responsibility for that area of your life. Although these transits can feel heavy, they can also help you build greater stability and maturity over time.

Saturn Transits the 1st House

When Saturn transits your 1st house of self, you may become more serious, introspective, and disciplined. Your responsibilities increase, and you may develop a much more realistic approach to life.

You may change the way you present yourself, opting for a more mature or conservative appearance. You may also become more conscious of your limitations and weaknesses, which can initially affect your confidence.

This is an excellent period for developing self discipline and eliminating habits that no longer serve you. You may become more focused on your physical health and appearance, and weight loss can occur during this transit.

Saturn Transits the 2nd House

When Saturn moves through your 2nd house of money and personal values, financial security becomes a major concern. You are likely to become more cautious and responsible with your finances, and may begin budgeting or cutting back on unnecessary spending.

If you have been financially careless in the past, Saturn may force you to confront the consequences of those choices. This can be a period of financial restriction, but it can also teach you how to manage your resources more effectively.

The 2nd house also represents your personal values, so you may begin questioning what is genuinely important to you. Over time, you may become less interested in material possessions that do not provide lasting value.

Saturn Transits the 3rd House

When Saturn transits your 3rd house of communication and learning, your thinking becomes more focused, serious, and disciplined. This is an excellent period for studying, writing, research, and developing practical skills.

You may become more careful about what you say and how you communicate with others. Your communication style may become more reserved, direct, or serious, which could take some getting used to for people who are accustomed to your usual way of communicating.

Relationships with siblings, relatives, and neighbors may become more demanding or strained. However, Saturn can also help you establish stronger boundaries and more mature relationships with these people.

Saturn Transits the 4th House

When Saturn moves through your 4th house of home and family, domestic responsibilities become more important. You may have greater obligations toward your family or find yourself taking on responsibilities that you previously avoided.

This can be a period of confronting unresolved childhood experiences and family dynamics. Saturn encourages you to examine your emotional foundations and establish greater security within yourself.

Because Saturn represents restriction, this transit can sometimes coincide with physical distance from family members. It can also occur when children leave home or when your living situation changes significantly.

Saturn Transits the 5th House

When Saturn transits your 5th house of romance, creativity, children, and pleasure, you tend to take these areas of life more seriously.

Romantic relationships may feel heavier or more demanding. You may become more selective about who you date and less interested in casual relationships. For some people, this transit brings a serious commitment, while for others, it reveals that an existing relationship is no longer fulfilling.

Responsibilities involving children may increase as well. You may also become more disciplined about creative projects and finally commit to developing a talent that you have previously neglected.

Saturn asks you to learn how to enjoy yourself without avoiding responsibility. It can ultimately help you develop a more mature understanding of love, pleasure, and creativity.

Saturn Transits the 6th House

When Saturn transits your 6th house of work, health, routines, and daily responsibilities, you may feel increasingly burdened by your obligations.

Work may require more effort than usual, and you may feel that there is always something else that needs to be done. You may also become more aware of your physical limitations and the consequences of neglecting your health.

This can be an excellent period for establishing a structured diet, exercise routine, or daily schedule. Saturn rewards consistency, so the habits you develop during this transit can have lasting benefits.

However, it is important not to take on more than you can realistically handle. Overwork and chronic stress can become problems if you fail to give yourself enough time to rest.

Saturn Transits the 7th House

When Saturn transits your 7th house of one on one relationships, you become much more serious about partnership. This transit often brings a greater desire for commitment, stability, and long term security.

For some people, this is when they enter their first truly serious relationship. A partner may be older, more mature, or simply more serious about commitment.

However, Saturn also tests existing relationships. If a partnership is built on a strong foundation, the relationship can become more stable and committed. If it is built on insecurity or avoidance, the relationship may come to an end.

If you are single, you may experience increased loneliness during this transit. Saturn encourages you to become comfortable with yourself rather than entering a relationship simply to avoid being alone.

Saturn Transits the 8th House

When Saturn transits your 8th house of intimacy, shared resources, and psychological transformation, your attention turns inward.

You may become more serious about intimacy and less interested in superficial encounters. You may want greater trust and emotional depth in your sexual relationships, and casual experiences may feel less satisfying.

Financial matters involving partners, taxes, debts, investments, or shared resources may also require greater responsibility. You may be forced to establish clearer boundaries around money and intimacy.

Psychologically, this transit can encourage you to confront fears and insecurities that you have previously avoided. Saturn asks you to develop greater emotional and financial independence.

Saturn Transits the 9th House

When Saturn transits your 9th house of higher education, travel, philosophy, and beliefs, you may develop a more serious approach to these subjects.

This can be a productive period for pursuing higher education or committing yourself to an area of study. You may also become more interested in philosophy, metaphysics, or questions about the meaning of life.

Your beliefs may become more structured, skeptical, or mature. You may question beliefs that you accepted earlier in life and replace them with ideas that have been carefully examined.

Long distance travel can also occur, particularly when the trip has an educational or practical purpose. Experiences during this period can significantly reshape your worldview.

Saturn Transits the 10th House

Saturn is traditionally associated with the 10th house, so this can be one of the most significant periods for your career and public life.

Career responsibilities increase, and you may be expected to take on a leadership role or prove your abilities. Saturn rewards patience and consistent effort, so previous hard work can begin producing tangible results.

However, professional success may require sacrifices in other areas of your life. You may have less time for family, friends, or leisure because of your career obligations.

If your career is not aligned with your long term goals, Saturn may instead expose the problem. You may experience delays, professional setbacks, or increased pressure that ultimately forces you to reconsider your direction.

Saturn Transits the 11th House

When Saturn transits your 11th house of friendships, groups, and long term goals, your social life may become more selective.

You may lose interest in superficial friendships and begin focusing on relationships that have genuine substance. Some friendships may end, while others become considerably stronger.

You may also feel less comfortable in large groups or less interested in socializing than usual. At the same time, you may take on greater responsibilities within your friendships or social organizations.

The 11th house also represents your long term goals. Saturn can therefore bring a period of restructuring, requiring you to determine which ambitions are realistic and worth pursuing.

Saturn Transits the 12th House

When Saturn moves through your 12th house, you may experience an increased need for solitude and privacy. You may feel more withdrawn from the outside world and more interested in examining your inner life.

This is a powerful period for letting go of unhealthy habits, destructive patterns, and situations that have been weighing you down. Saturn encourages you to deal with unfinished business rather than continuing to avoid it.

Spiritual practices such as meditation, reflection, and contemplative work can be particularly beneficial during this period.

Although this transit can sometimes feel lonely, it can ultimately help you develop greater inner strength. By the time Saturn leaves the 12th house, you may have a much clearer understanding of what you need to leave behind before beginning a new chapter.

Neptune-Moon Transits in Astrology: Love, Emotions and Illusion

n astrology, the Moon represents our emotions, instincts, memories, and sense of security, while Neptune represents sensitivity, spirituality, imagination, compassion, and illusion. When Neptune makes a major aspect to your natal Moon, your emotional and intuitive faculties become much stronger. You may feel more connected to other people, but you can also become more vulnerable to confusion, idealization, and emotional overwhelm.

Neptune Conjunct Natal Moon

When transiting Neptune conjuncts your natal Moon, your emotional sensitivity is heightened considerably. You may feel everything more deeply than usual, and your emotions can sometimes become overwhelming. Even something as simple as a sad commercial or tragic news story may bring you to tears.

Your intuition is also exceptionally strong during this transit. You may pick up on other people’s feelings without them saying a word, and you may find yourself unusually aware of the emotional atmosphere around you. Your compassion increases, and you may feel a strong connection to people, animals, nature, or humanity as a whole.

This can be a deeply spiritual period. You may experience a spiritual awakening or become more interested in meditation, mysticism, dreams, or other spiritual practices. Your relationships can also become deeper and more emotionally intimate.

However, Neptune can blur boundaries. You may have difficulty separating your own feelings from those of other people, making it harder to say no or protect your emotional energy. Conflict and negativity can affect you more strongly than usual.

The biggest challenge is distinguishing reality from fantasy. You may see people and situations exactly as you want them to be rather than as they actually are. This is particularly important in relationships. You may become attracted to someone because you feel they need you, or because you believe you can save or heal them.

There can be a strong need to feel needed during this transit. You may confuse compassion with love or sacrifice with intimacy. Be careful about entering relationships based primarily on sympathy or the desire to rescue someone. What feels spiritually significant at the time may look very different once Neptune moves away from your Moon.

Neptune Trine or Sextile Natal Moon

Neptune making a trine or sextile to your natal Moon brings many of the same qualities as the conjunction, but they tend to be easier to manage.

Your sensitivity and compassion increase, and you become highly intuitive about the people around you. You may instinctively know when someone is struggling and feel a strong desire to help.

You are more accepting and forgiving during this period. You may find it easier to understand other people’s flaws and see situations from their perspective. This can make you an excellent listener, counselor, or source of emotional support.

Your imagination is also heightened. You may become more interested in music, art, spirituality, dreams, poetry, or other creative pursuits.

Family relationships can benefit from this transit as well. You may be more willing to forgive old hurts and resolve emotional issues from the past. You feel more emotionally connected to those closest to you.

The main thing to watch is your sensitivity. Harsh people, conflict, and negative environments can drain you more easily than usual. Learning when to step back is important because you may still have difficulty saying no to others.

Neptune Square or Opposite Natal Moon

The square and opposition can be considerably more confusing. Your emotional and intuitive faculties are heightened, but your ability to separate feelings from facts may be weakened.

You may become extremely compassionate and trusting, sometimes to your own detriment. You tend to see the best in people, which can make you vulnerable to manipulation or deception. At the same time, you may feel that others misunderstand, disappoint, or take advantage of you.

Saying no can be especially difficult. Your boundaries may become blurred, making it difficult to determine where your feelings end and someone else’s begin.

Relationships can become particularly complicated during this transit. You may enter a relationship because you feel sorry for someone, believe they need you, or feel that you can save them. Co-dependent patterns can develop if you are not careful.

Your emotions may also cloud your judgment. Situations that would normally seem obvious can become difficult to interpret, and you may see what you want to see rather than what is actually happening.

Despite these challenges, this can be a deeply spiritual and healing transit. Unresolved issues involving childhood, family, or your mother may resurface. Painful memories that you previously avoided may come back into your awareness because they need to be acknowledged and healed.

Spiritual practices, therapy, creative work, and periods of solitude can be particularly helpful. The goal is not to suppress your heightened sensitivity, but to learn how to work with it without losing your sense of reality or your boundaries.

Neptune-Moon Transits Through the Houses

Check the house occupied by your natal Moon and the house ruled by the Moon to get a better idea of where these themes may manifest.

Moon in or Ruling the 1st House

You may appear more sensitive, compassionate, and emotionally receptive to others. Your appearance or personal identity may feel less defined, and you may project a softer or more mysterious image. You may also become more vulnerable to other people’s influence.

Moon in or Ruling the 2nd House

Your emotions may influence your financial decisions more strongly than usual. You may become careless or confused about money, particularly during hard aspects. Be especially cautious about unrealistic financial opportunities or “get rich quick” schemes.

Moon in or Ruling the 3rd House

Your imagination is heightened, and you may become interested in poetry, creative writing, music, or other forms of expression. Your communication becomes more emotionally driven, and you may have difficulty explaining exactly what you mean.

Moon in or Ruling the 4th House

Your home and family life become particularly emotional. Unresolved issues involving your childhood, mother, or family may surface and demand attention. You may feel drawn toward water or consider relocating somewhere near the ocean, a lake, or another body of water.

Moon in or Ruling the 5th House

Your approach to love, romance, creativity, and pleasure may change. Harmonious aspects can bring emotionally fulfilling romantic experiences and increased creativity. Hard aspects can increase the possibility of idealizing a romantic partner or being disappointed when reality does not match your expectations.

Moon in or Ruling the 6th House

You may feel the need to take time away from work and daily responsibilities. Your sensitivity to your environment can increase, making stressful workplaces more difficult to tolerate. During harmonious aspects, colleagues may be more compassionate and supportive. Hard aspects can indicate confusion or unreliability among coworkers.

Moon in or Ruling the 7th House

Relationships become a major focus. You may attract someone sensitive, artistic, spiritual, or compassionate. However, Neptune can make it difficult to see a partner clearly, particularly during hard aspects. Be careful about idealizing someone or assuming they are exactly who you want them to be.

Moon in or Ruling the 8th House

Shared finances and resources may become confusing. Make sure you understand financial agreements before committing to them. Intimacy and sexuality may take on a more spiritual or emotionally intense quality.

Moon in or Ruling the 9th House

Your beliefs and worldview may undergo a significant transformation. You may become more interested in spirituality, philosophy, mysticism, or higher education. Travel may expose you to new ideas and lead you to discover something important about yourself.

Moon in or Ruling the 10th House

You may experience uncertainty about your career and long-term direction. You could become more interested in careers involving compassion, creativity, spirituality, or helping others, such as counseling or social work. However, avoid making major career decisions based solely on an idealized vision of the future.

Moon in or Ruling the 11th House

Your friendships may become more emotionally significant. You may become particularly attached to certain friends or feel a strong desire to help them. You may also connect with artistic, spiritual, or highly compassionate people. Humanitarian causes and charitable work may become more important to you.

Moon in or Ruling the 12th House

Your emotional life becomes more private and introspective. You may have difficulty putting your feelings into words and may become more sentimental or reflective. Solitude, rest, meditation, and quiet environments can be especially beneficial during this transit.

Weight Loss and Astrology: The Most Significant Transits

If you are trying to lose weight, certain astrological transits may coincide with periods when you become more disciplined about your diet, exercise, and overall health. In traditional astrology, Saturn is associated with restriction, discipline, and cutting back, while Uranus and Pluto can bring sudden or profound changes.

These transits do not guarantee weight loss. Rather, they may coincide with periods when your habits, appearance, or approach to health undergo significant changes.

Check out my new books, Cosmic Fortune: The Astrology of Lottery Winners , Predict Love with Astrology, and  Fall In Love with Astrology!

Saturn Transiting the Ascendant or Ruler of the 1st House

Saturn is traditionally associated with restriction and eliminating excess, making it one of the planets most commonly associated with weight loss.

When Saturn transits your Ascendant or the ruler of your 1st house, you may become more conscious of your physical appearance and take a more disciplined approach to your body and health. You may feel motivated to cut back on excess and adopt a more structured lifestyle.

The 1st house represents the physical body and appearance, while the ruler of the 1st house can act as an additional indicator of how you experience changes to your body. As a result, Saturn’s influence here can coincide with a noticeable change in your appearance, including weight loss.

Saturn Transiting the 6th House or Ruler of the 6th House

The 6th house is associated with health, diet, exercise, and daily routines, while Saturn represents discipline, responsibility, and structure.

When Saturn transits your 6th house or its ruler, you may become much more serious about your health. You may establish a strict exercise routine, change your diet, or become more consistent with healthy habits.

This transit can be particularly productive if you are willing to make gradual, sustainable changes. Saturn favors patience and consistency rather than quick fixes.

If your 1st house ruler is located in the 6th house, Saturn’s transit can have an even stronger connection to changes in your body and lifestyle.

Uranus Transiting the Ascendant or Ruler of the 1st House

Uranus is associated with sudden changes, disruption, and the desire to break away from old patterns. When it transits your Ascendant or the ruler of your 1st house, you may suddenly decide that you want to change your appearance.

Because the 1st house represents the physical body and personal appearance, Uranus can bring an unexpected transformation in the way you look.

You may suddenly become interested in losing weight, changing your diet, exercising, or adopting an entirely different approach to your appearance. The change may happen quickly, especially if you have been dissatisfied with your appearance for some time.

Uranus Transiting the 6th House or Ruler of the 6th House

When Uranus transits the 6th house or its ruler, your daily habits and approach to health can change dramatically.

You may suddenly become interested in a new form of exercise or discover a different approach to diet and nutrition. You might join a gym, take up a new sport, change your eating habits, or completely restructure your daily routine.

The key Uranian theme is experimentation. You may become bored with your old routines and feel compelled to try something completely different.

Pluto Transiting the Ascendant or Ruler of the 1st House

Pluto is associated with profound transformation, making its transits to the Ascendant particularly powerful for changes in appearance and identity.

When Pluto transits your Ascendant or the ruler of your 1st house, you may feel a strong desire to completely transform yourself. This can include changes to your body, appearance, lifestyle, and sense of identity.

Weight loss can sometimes accompany this transit, particularly if you become intensely focused on changing your physical appearance. However, Pluto’s tendency toward extremes means that moderation is important. The desire for transformation can become obsessive if you are not careful.

The goal should be meaningful, sustainable change rather than becoming consumed by your appearance.

Pluto Transiting the 6th House or Ruler of the 6th House

Pluto transiting the 6th house or its ruler can bring profound changes to your daily habits, diet, exercise routine, and approach to health.

You may completely overhaul your lifestyle and become much more conscious of what you eat and how you treat your body. Old habits that no longer serve you may be eliminated, sometimes quite dramatically.

However, Pluto can also create an all-or-nothing mentality. There may be a tendency to become obsessive about food, exercise, or weight. It is therefore important to approach this transit with balance rather than allowing the desire for transformation to become extreme.

Progressions Into Capricorn

This is a more personal observation than a traditional astrological rule, but progressions involving Capricorn can sometimes coincide with becoming more disciplined about the body and lifestyle.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, so its symbolism is associated with restraint, structure, patience, and self-control. A progressed Ascendant entering Capricorn, for example, may coincide with a period in which you become more serious about your appearance and physical habits.

In my own experience, my progressed Ascendant entering Capricorn coincided with a significant change in my weight after struggling with it for much of my childhood.
