Ascendant in the Signs: Meaning, Traits & Personality

Your Ascendant, also known as your Rising Sign, is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the time you were born. The Ascendant is specific to the time and place the person was born. Your Ascendant is just as important as your Sun and Moon signs because all the aspects in the chart are filtered through this sign.

The Ascendant is your public persona, the Mask you wear when you first meet people; it’s the “first impression” you give to those around you.

Ever been told, “Wow, I thought you were so shy/serious/emotional/optimistic/detached when we first met, but you’re not like that at all!”, or something along those lines?

This is often the case when the Sun and Moon signs are in different signs than your Ascendant. The Ascendant also describes your physical characteristics, style, and mannerisms.

  • Fire Ascendants are optimistic, enthusiastic and friendly.
  • Earth Ascendants are practical, serious, and shy.
  • Air Ascendants are intellectual, communicative, and independent.
  • Water Ascendants are emotional, intuitive, and self-protective.

The Descendant is located exactly opposite your Ascendant. For example, if my Ascendant is at 16 degrees Virgo, my Descendant is at 16 degrees Pisces. The Descendant describes what kind of partner we attract.

Ascendant in Aries:

As an Aries Ascendant, you approach life with an assertive, “me-first” energy. Aries are decisive and quick to the point, and have a quick temper that dies down as easily as it started.

You are courageous and active, and independence and self-reliance are important to you. In general, you are honest, and make a great leader.

You may appear impatient and rude to others, even if you’re not like that on the inside. You can be quite charming to the opposite sex, and you enjoy the chase and the beginning of a relationship.

With Libra on the Descendant, you attract refined, diplomatic mates. The people you attract are generally intellectual and social. They tend to be partnership oriented, and think about “we”, instead of “me”, which is something you need badly.

Chiron in the Houses: Understanding Your Wounded Healer

In astrology, Chiron is known as the “Wounded Healer.” In mythology, Chiron was a wise centaur and skilled healer who suffered from an incurable wound of his own. Although he could teach others how to heal, he was unable to completely heal himself.

In the birth chart, Chiron is often associated with a recurring area of vulnerability. It can point to experiences that began early in life and continue to shape us as we grow older. At the same time, Chiron can show where we develop wisdom through our own struggles and eventually become capable of helping others.

The house where Chiron is located can reveal the area of life where this pattern is most noticeable.

Chiron in the 1st House

Chiron in the 1st house can indicate early experiences that affected your sense of identity, confidence, or ability to assert yourself.

You may have felt overlooked, rejected, or different from other people while growing up. Some people with this placement respond by withdrawing, while others become highly assertive or defensive.

There can also be a strong instinct to stand up for people who are overlooked or disadvantaged. You may become an excellent counselor, advocate, or source of support for others, yet struggle to extend the same compassion toward yourself.

One of the lessons of this placement is learning that you do not have to earn your right to exist, be noticed, or take up space.

Chiron in the 2nd House

Chiron in the 2nd house can bring recurring issues involving money, possessions, security, and self-worth.

Your early experiences with money may have shaped the way you view security as an adult. Perhaps your family struggled financially, or perhaps money was a constant source of anxiety or conflict.

The deeper issue, however, is often self-worth. You may have learned early in life to measure your value by what you have, what you accomplish, or what you can provide for others.

Interestingly, this placement can produce someone who is excellent at giving financial or practical advice while struggling to apply the same principles to their own life.

Healing involves developing a sense of worth that is not dependent on possessions, income, or external validation.

Chiron in the 3rd House

The 3rd house rules communication, siblings, early education, and the immediate environment.

Chiron here can indicate painful experiences involving communication. Perhaps you were criticized for the way you spoke, struggled academically, felt ignored when expressing yourself, or were made to feel that your opinions were not important.

Relationships with siblings can also be a source of recurring difficulty. Alternatively, growing up without siblings may have left you feeling as though you were missing an important experience.

Because of these experiences, you may become particularly skilled at helping other people communicate. Writing, teaching, speech therapy, counseling, or voice coaching can provide ways to turn these experiences into something useful.

Chiron in the 4th House

Chiron in the 4th house often points toward wounds involving childhood, family, home, and emotional security.

One parent may have been emotionally or physically unavailable, perhaps because of work, illness, personal problems, or other circumstances. You may have felt different from the rest of your family or developed the feeling that you were the “black sheep.”

Your relationship with home can also be complicated. You may struggle to create the sense of safety and belonging that you wanted as a child.

At the same time, you may become remarkably good at helping other people create comfortable and supportive homes. Your own experiences can give you an understanding of what people need to feel emotionally secure.

Chiron in the 5th House

The 5th house rules children, romance, creativity, gambling, pleasure, and self-expression.

Chiron here can indicate wounds surrounding your ability to have fun, express yourself, or feel comfortable being seen.

You may have experienced rejection when expressing your creativity as a child. You may also struggle with romance or feel that love never seems to work out the way you expect.

Children can also become an important Chiron theme. You may be wonderful at giving other people advice about parenting while finding your own experiences with children more complicated.

This placement can also create an interesting contrast between talent and confidence. You may be an excellent coach, teacher, or adviser while doubting your own abilities when you are the one in the spotlight.

Chiron in the 6th House

Chiron in the 6th house is particularly interesting because the 6th house is associated with health, routines, work, service, and daily habits.

This placement can create a strong preoccupation with improving yourself. You may constantly analyze your routines, productivity, diet, exercise habits, or general wellbeing.

Some people with this placement experience recurring concerns surrounding health or develop a strong interest in nutrition and wellness. Others become extremely focused on work and productivity, sometimes feeling that they are never doing enough.

There can also be a tendency to become a workaholic. You may feel most valuable when you are being productive or useful to someone else.

Interestingly, Chiron in the 6th can produce someone who becomes highly knowledgeable about health, nutrition, routines, or work despite struggling to maintain balance personally.

You may be able to give other people excellent advice while having difficulty following it yourself. This is one of the classic expressions of the “Wounded Healer.”

The lesson is not perfection. It is learning that your worth does not depend on how productive, healthy, or useful you are.

Chiron in the 7th House

Chiron in the 7th house can bring recurring wounds involving relationships, partnership, rejection, and abandonment.

You may have grown up witnessing relationship difficulties between your parents or experienced separation, divorce, or instability within the family.

As an adult, these experiences can create heightened sensitivity to rejection. You may become extremely cautious about relationships or, alternatively, seek relationships intensely in an attempt to feel secure.

Interestingly, this placement can produce someone who gives excellent relationship and marriage advice despite experiencing complicated relationships of their own.

Over time, your experiences can teach you a great deal about partnership, boundaries, compromise, and emotional healing.

Chiron in the 8th House

The 8th house rules intimacy, sexuality, shared resources, vulnerability, and psychological transformation.

Chiron here can indicate deep wounds surrounding trust and emotional intimacy. You may have difficulty allowing yourself to become completely vulnerable with another person.

Shared finances can also become a recurring issue. You may find yourself financially dependent on someone else, responsible for supporting others, or dealing with complicated arrangements involving shared money.

Sexuality may also become an area where you experience vulnerability or insecurity. However, your experiences can eventually give you an unusually deep understanding of intimacy and human psychology.

This can be a powerful placement for someone who works with others through deeply personal issues, including therapy, counseling, or sexual health.

Chiron in the 9th House

The 9th house rules higher education, travel, philosophy, religion, and beliefs.

Chiron here can indicate wounds involving education or your belief system. Perhaps you wanted to attend university but were unable to, experienced difficulties in higher education, or felt that your beliefs were criticized by the people around you.

Travel can also become complicated. You may dream of exploring the world but experience obstacles that make it difficult to travel as much as you would like.

At other times, the opposite can happen. You may become so focused on education, philosophy, religion, or travel that these subjects become a way of searching for answers to deeper personal questions.

You may eventually become an excellent teacher because you understand what it feels like to search for answers yourself.

Chiron in the 10th House

Chiron in the 10th house can create wounds surrounding career, achievement, authority, and public recognition.

You may have felt pressure to succeed from an early age. Alternatively, childhood experiences may have caused you to reject ambition because you associated success with pressure, responsibility, or disappointment.

Some people with this placement become extremely ambitious because they are trying to prove their worth. Others avoid responsibility because they fear failure or judgment.

There can also be a tendency to take care of everyone else through your career while neglecting your own needs.

Because the 10th house is associated with public life, your experiences can eventually make you very effective at helping others navigate career and professional challenges.

Chiron in the 11th House

Chiron in the 11th house can indicate wounds involving friendship, belonging, social groups, and feeling accepted by your peers.

You may have experienced rejection or bullying during childhood, or simply felt that you never quite fit in.

As an adult, you may have difficulty maintaining friendships or feel uncomfortable in large groups. Alternatively, you may constantly seek out new friendships because you are trying to fill an underlying sense of loneliness.

You may also become strongly involved in humanitarian causes or communities that give you a sense of purpose.

Your greatest strength can come from understanding what it feels like to be an outsider. You may become particularly compassionate toward people who feel excluded or misunderstood.

Chiron in the 12th House

Chiron in the 12th house can indicate wounds that are difficult to identify or explain.

You may carry a sense of vulnerability that you keep hidden from other people. There can be a strong desire for privacy, and you may prefer dealing with your problems alone.

You may also spend a great deal of time helping people who are struggling, sometimes at the expense of your own needs.

Some people with this placement have strong intuitive or healing abilities but feel uncomfortable drawing attention to them. They may keep these talents private or doubt whether they have anything valuable to offer.

The challenge is learning that helping others does not require sacrificing yourself. You can be compassionate without taking responsibility for everyone’s suffering.

Career Astrology: The Best Career for Your Midheaven Sign

The Midheaven, or MC, is traditionally associated with career, ambition, reputation, and our public image. The sign on your Midheaven can offer clues about the type of work environment and professional role in which you are most likely to thrive.

The 10th house and any planets located there can provide additional information about your career path. It is also useful to consider the 6th house, which is associated with work, routines, and daily responsibilities. The sign on the 6th house cusp can describe the type of work environment that suits you best.

Your Midheaven does not necessarily point to one specific career. Instead, it can reveal your professional strengths, motivations, and the qualities you need to feel fulfilled in your work.

Moon in Aries

Lunar Arians are known for their quick, fiery tempers. However, their tempers tend to die down just as quickly as they begin. It is not uncommon to see a Moon in Aries person furious one minute and completely back to normal the next. Aries is a sign that tends to act before thinking, so emotional reactions can get ahead of them. They may regret their outbursts later, once they have calmed down and are able to look at the situation more rationally.

Moon in Aries people are not usually prone to holding grudges. They live in the moment, so something that bothered them a week, month, or year ago may no longer matter to them in the present.

Aries is associated with the child, so people with this Moon placement can sometimes be emotionally immature or self-focused. Impatience is another common characteristic. They want what they want, and they want it now. They tend to seek immediate emotional and physical gratification.

Lunar Arians can bore easily and may struggle with situations that feel stagnant or restrictive. They can be passionate and enthusiastic at the beginning of a relationship or project, but maintaining that excitement over the long term requires stimulation and variety.

These individuals do not shy away from confrontation. In fact, a good argument can be invigorating for Moon in Aries. They would generally rather express their anger openly than quietly hold resentment inside.

Moon in Taurus

As an Earth sign, Moon in Taurus needs stability, security, and physical comfort. These individuals have strong appetites for pleasure and tend to appreciate good food, physical affection, beautiful surroundings, and the comforts of life.

Stability is particularly important to them emotionally. They are not usually spontaneous when it comes to major emotional decisions and prefer to feel that they are standing on solid ground before making a commitment.

Do not try to rush a Moon in Taurus person into anything. Pressure tends to make them dig their heels in. They prefer to move at their own pace, but once they make a commitment, they tend to take it seriously.

Lunar Taureans are known for their relatively slow emotional reactions. They do not let go easily, and they may hold on to painful memories long after an event has passed. This can make it difficult for them to move on from people or situations that once had emotional significance.

Their stubbornness can be both a strength and a weakness. Once they decide how they feel about something, changing their minds can take considerable effort.

Moon in Gemini

As an Air sign, Moon in Gemini approaches life through the intellect. Lunar Geminians are quick-witted, analytical, curious, and often talented at writing and speaking.

Gemini rules the lower mind, so people with this placement tend to be interested in information, conversation, gossip, and the exchange of ideas. They need mental stimulation in order to feel emotionally engaged.

Moon in Gemini people are emotionally adaptable. They can change their opinions and reactions quickly, sometimes making it difficult for others to know exactly how they feel. They are often very good at understanding what other people want to hear, but may have more difficulty identifying and expressing their own emotional needs.

They are fascinated by what makes other people tick and may spend a great deal of time analyzing the behavior of those around them. At the same time, they can be surprisingly private about their own feelings.

Moon in Cancer

In Cancer, the Moon is considered to be at home. This is an extremely intuitive placement, and Moon in Cancer people are often highly sensitive to the emotional atmosphere around them.

They can absorb the moods of other people so easily that it may become difficult to distinguish their own feelings from the emotions they have picked up from others.

Moon in Cancer individuals are sensitive, nurturing, and easily hurt. They can become emotionally dependent on people they love and may have difficulty moving on from past hurts.

They are often shy at first, but their more outgoing nature becomes apparent once they feel safe and comfortable. Home and family tend to be extremely important to them, and they often have strong emotional attachments to their childhood, family members, and places that feel familiar.

When they feel insecure or emotionally threatened, they may resort to indirect or manipulative behavior rather than directly expressing what they need.

Moon in Leo

Lunar Lions are passionate and expressive, and they tend to experience their emotions dramatically. They can become caught up in the moment and may say or do things they later regret.

Their ego and emotional nature are closely connected. They are particularly sensitive to anything that makes them feel ignored, embarrassed, or disrespected.

Moon in Leo people need recognition and appreciation. When they feel overlooked, they can become frustrated or dramatic. However, they are also generous, warm, loyal, and capable of making the people around them feel special.

As a fixed sign, Leo can be stubborn. Once they have formed an emotional opinion, they may have difficulty changing it even when presented with evidence that contradicts their beliefs.

They can experience jealousy, but their jealousy is often connected to their need for attention and recognition rather than outright possessiveness. During a breakup or emotional disappointment, wounded pride can sometimes hurt just as much as the loss itself.

Moon in Virgo

Lunar Virgoans tend to be self-contained and often put up barriers around their feelings. They can be difficult to get to know because they prefer to analyze their emotions rather than immediately express them.

They take a practical and analytical approach to emotional issues and do not usually wear their hearts on their sleeves.

As a mutable sign, Virgo is emotionally adaptable. Moon in Virgo people are often highly observant and sensitive to the needs of others. They may instinctively notice what needs to be fixed or improved and can be extremely helpful as a result.

They tend to take health seriously, particularly when it comes to food, exercise, and daily habits. This placement can sometimes contribute to excessive worry about health.

Because of their critical nature, Moon in Virgo people may nag or point out other people’s mistakes. Usually, this comes from concern and a genuine desire to help rather than from cruelty.

They often show love through practical actions rather than dramatic emotional displays.

Moon in Libra

Moon in Libra seeks equality, harmony, and balance in emotional relationships. These individuals are strongly partnership-oriented and generally dislike feeling isolated or alone.

They are fair-minded, logical, sociable, and diplomatic. Their natural charm makes it easy for them to persuade others, and they are often skilled at understanding different sides of an argument.

Moon in Libra people instinctively notice what other people want or feel, which can make them excellent mediators and problem-solvers.

They often have a strong appreciation for beauty, fashion, art, and aesthetics. Their surroundings can have a significant effect on their emotional state.

The downside is indecisiveness. They may struggle to make emotional decisions because they can see the merits of every side. Rather than taking a firm position, they may try to find a compromise that keeps everyone happy.

They intensely dislike confrontation and may suppress their true feelings in order to maintain peace.

Moon in Scorpio

Lunar Scorpions are emotionally intense, suspicious, and deeply perceptive. As a Water sign, Scorpio is strongly influenced by emotion, but these emotions often run much deeper than what is visible on the surface.

Moon in Scorpio can be associated with jealousy, possessiveness, manipulation, and a strong desire for emotional control. These individuals may hold grudges for a long time and can have difficulty forgiving people who have betrayed their trust.

As a fixed sign, Scorpio is stubborn and tends to take its time before fully trusting or committing to someone. Once that commitment has been made, however, they tend to hold on tightly.

Moon in Scorpio people are excellent at detecting superficiality. They can often sense when someone is hiding something, even when there is no obvious evidence.

Their desire to understand and control their emotional environment can sometimes become excessive. Learning to manage their own intense emotions is often more difficult than understanding the emotions of others.

Moon in Sagittarius

Lunar Sagittarians, like other Fire Moons, can have quick tempers but usually recover from anger quickly. They are adventurous, enthusiastic, and often willing to take risks that others would avoid.

As a mutable sign, Sagittarius needs freedom and movement. Moon in Sagittarius people can become restless when they feel trapped by repetitive routines, restrictive relationships, or overly demanding emotional situations.

They tend to be blunt and straightforward, which can sometimes hurt the feelings of more sensitive people. They generally prefer honesty over diplomacy, even when the truth is uncomfortable.

Their emotions can be changeable. Their feelings and opinions may shift considerably depending on their circumstances and experiences.

Moon in Sagittarius people are naturally curious and love exploring new ideas, cultures, philosophies, and places. They often have an interest in travel, teaching, education, religion, and philosophy.

They can also have a tendency to exaggerate or become overly confident in their opinions. Their optimism is one of their greatest strengths, but it can occasionally prevent them from seeing practical limitations.

Moon in Capricorn

Lunar Goats are practical, responsible, and emotionally reserved. They often have a reputation for being cold or distant because they are uncomfortable exposing their vulnerabilities.

They may have a strong fear of rejection and can put emotional barriers around themselves to avoid getting hurt. Trust does not come easily, and they often need considerable time before allowing someone to see their softer side.

Saturn rules Capricorn, so this Moon placement can be associated with pessimism, self-doubt, and a tendency to focus on what could go wrong.

Moon in Capricorn people often take their responsibilities very seriously. They may prioritize work, financial security, and long-term goals, sometimes at the expense of their personal lives.

They tend to show love through reliability and practical support rather than emotional displays. They may not always say how much they care, but they will often demonstrate it through what they do.

Their emotional maturity tends to increase with age. As they become more comfortable with vulnerability, they can develop into extremely dependable and loyal partners, friends, and family members.

Moon in Aquarius

Lunar Aquarians are emotionally detached, logical, and independent. They tend to treat people as equals and often have a wide social circle because of their friendly and sociable nature.

As a fixed sign, Aquarius can be emotionally stable and remarkably calm during situations that would overwhelm other people. They are often good at helping others see a situation objectively.

However, they can be stubborn and strongly resistant to being controlled. They need freedom and personal space and may withdraw when they feel emotionally pressured.

Moon in Aquarius people can sometimes be disconnected from their own emotions, as well as from the emotions of those around them. They may understand emotions intellectually without necessarily knowing how to respond to them emotionally.

Their need for independence can make traditional relationship structures difficult if they feel those structures limit their individuality.

They are generally drawn to unusual experiences, unconventional ideas, and people who challenge their way of thinking.

Moon in Pisces

Lunar Fish are incredibly intuitive, compassionate, and sensitive. They tend to pick up on subtle emotional signals that other people miss and can be deeply affected by the moods of those around them.

Because of their sensitivity, they are easily hurt and may struggle to establish emotional boundaries. They can become overly dependent on others when they do not feel secure within themselves.

Moon in Pisces people sometimes develop a tough exterior as a way of protecting their inner vulnerability. Beneath that exterior, however, they tend to be highly compassionate and emotionally receptive.

Ruled by Neptune, Pisces can be unrealistic and impractical when dealing with emotional issues. These individuals may idealize people or situations and have difficulty seeing things objectively when their emotions are involved.

Nevertheless, they are deeply romantic and idealistic. They often want to believe in the best in people and may be willing to sacrifice their own needs to help someone they care about.

The tendency to play the martyr can become a problem when they continually take on other people’s suffering or try to save people who are unwilling to save themselves.

Mars in Pisces:

You are mild-tempered, passive, and gentle. You are attracted to music and art, and tend to “go with the flow”. You are not particularly aggressive or assertive, but rather emotional and intuitive. You are very emotional, and often require seclusion in order to sort your feelings out. You are attuned to the feelings of others, and are always ready to help someone in need. You are not particularly decisive, because sometimes you don’t know what you want. Your energy levels vary from day to day, and you do well in jobs requiring creativity.

You are a very romantic lover, and tend to idealize your mate. In bed, you are eager to please, and your partners may take advantage of this by always “taking” but never “giving”. To you, sex should transcendent the physical and emotional to a spiritual realm, so your idea of “perfect sex” can be difficult to achieve when your partner isn’t on the same level.

Capricorn and Saturn in Love: Why They Fear Rejection

Capricorn and strong Saturn placements can approach love with caution, patience, and a strong need for security. They may take longer to trust, open up, and commit, often because they fear rejection or getting hurt. Here’s what astrology can reveal about their approach to relationships.

Planets in Capricorn:

This applies especially to people with their Sun, Moon, and/or Venus in Capricorn.

Capricorn is the natural ruler of the 10th house of Career. Saturn rules the sign of Capricorn.

As an earth sign, Capricorn’s main concerns in a relationship are stability, security, and commitment. Casual, short-term flings just won’t do. As such, they look for relationships in which they sees long-term potential. Capricorns hate waste- wasting money, wasting resources, and, most importantly, wasting time. Indeed, Cappies will ensure you are a solid bet before entering a relationship, and this can take a while.

Think of dating a Cappy like auditioning for a role in a play; they will “test” you in various ways to see if you two are suitable for one another by observing you, asking you questions, and seeing how you relate to them. Cappies are patient and determined in everything they do, even when it comes to love.  If they don’t think you two are the right match, they will have no problem exiting the relationship. Women who “play the field” are not attractive to them at all; they threaten Cappy’s sense of security.

Capricorn is not usually fond of soppy emotional displays or public displays of affection. In fact, they appreciate discretion and respect those who respect their privacy. Cappies also have a huge fear of rejection, as well as a fear of getting hurt.

As such, they guard their hearts under a veil of coldness and aloofness. They may be shy to approach, and have an even harder time expressing their feelings unless they are 100% sure the other person feels the same way. When a Cappy finds that things are actually going well in their relationship, Saturnian pessimism and the fear of getting hurt may enter his mind. As a result, they might distance himself, leaving you wondering what went wrong.

Capricorns are attracted to poised, reserved, classy people. They are especially attracted to “corporate” types; people who are ambitious, successful, and hard-working. Capricorns are generally traditional, so what their family thinks of you is very important. You see, Capricorns are very concerned with how they “appear” to others, so they will choose a partner who makes them“look good,” or is socially acceptable.

If you want to land a Capricorn , the first thing to remember is to be patient; they needs to trust you before they enter a relationship with you and this can take time. Coming on too aggressively will push them away; Capricorns dislike pressure. Show them your serious, ambitious side. Show them you are a responsible, hard-working individual who thinks long-term.

Strong Saturn Placements

Strong Saturn placements include Saturn in hard aspect (conjunction, square, opposition) to the Sun, Moon, Venus or Ascendant/Descendant axis. This also applies to Saturn in the 7th and 5th houses.

Individuals with strong Saturn placements in their natal charts share a fear of rejection and vulnerability, much like Capricorn individuals. People with these placements often see relationships as “work”, and are therefore very careful when deciding whether or not to partner up with someone. Fear keeps them from fully enjoying the joys of partnerships, as they have an intense fear of expressing their feelings, as this puts them at risk of getting hurt. Saturnian folk often lack confidence, and thus feel they are not worthy of love.

Their love philosophy is clouded with negativity and skepticism, which prevents them from finding happiness in love. Saturnian individuals have their defenses up at all times, and have a very difficult time letting people “in”. People with prominent Saturn may appear cold and unfeeling to others, but this is simply a reflection of their inner loneliness and their lack of self-love.

They might take a while to open up, so hang in there! To quell ther fear of rejection, try telling them your feelings first; if they knows how you feel first, they’ll have an easier time expressing themselves to you.

Moon square/opposite Venus Meaning:

When these planets are in square/opposite aspect to one another, our emotional needs are at odds with our needs and capacity to love. This can cause many problems, as it is difficult for the Moon square/opposite Venus native to have both needs fulfilled by just one person.

For example, say I have Moon in Aries square Venus in Capricorn: on one hand, I am emotionally fulfilled by aggressive, direct, and passionate people. However, aggression and passion to not “agree” with my Venus in Capricorn nature; it is unattractive to me, as Venus in Capricorn prefers shy, stable, drama-free mates.

Also, we can think of this in terms of synastry: if my partner’s Mars is in Capricorn, and therefore is in conjunct aspect to my Venus, I feel a tremendous sexual attraction to my partner. However, it would also mean that my partner’s Mars squares my Moon, which leads to heated arguments and hurt feelings.

As a result, the native finds it difficult to find a partner who fulfills both their Moon and Venus needs, and might choose to have two partners: one who makes him emotionally secure, and one that makes him feel loved and attracted.

This can also indicate a Madonna-Whore complex; the native may have the inability to see his or her partner as both a nurturing type (moon) and a sexual being (Venus). To solve this dilemma, the native may choose to take on two partners in order to have these needs fulfilled.

Of course, not all Moon square/opposite Venus natives are cheaters! Nevertheless, people with this aspect find themselves “giving up” one planetary need at the expense of another in some way. They will disregard their Venusian needs for their Lunar needs, and vice-versa.

For instance, the native will ignore his or her emotional needs in order to feel attractive and valued, or will ignore his or her need for approval to satisfy her needs for security and comfort.

Peace and harmony are very important to these natives. This is why many people with this aspect can be regarded as “too nice”, or as “pushovers”, as they will often find themselves acquiescing to the needs of others at their own expense.

Strong Uranus Aspects

Aspects to look for:

  • Uranus square Venus
  • Uranus square Mars
  • Uranus square 7th house ruler

Uranus is the planet of freedom, rebellion, unpredictability. When in hard aspect to Venus or Mars, the native craves freedom, variety, and excitement in relationships.

It is difficult for these natives to “settle down” into a “normal” relationship because of many reasons. For instance, relationships might make them feel restricted, bored, or they may constantly crave “newness” in relationships.

Its the initial feeling of getting into a relationship which excites them, so as time goes by, their interest may gradually decrease for their partner and their relationship. Bored of the everyday, “hum-drum” aspects of “regular” relationships, the house native may seek excitement outside the relationship.

Remember: Having these aspects does not guarantee someone will cheat; in some cases, it simply means they might struggle with commitment.

  • Neptune square Mars
  • Neptune square 7th house ruler

With this placement, idealization of partners in common. The native has an idealistic view of relationships and love in general, and is on a constant search for their soulmate.

They daydream about their ideal mate, and the kind of relationships they envision are other-worldly. Real relationships, however, are difficult; they require a tremendous amount of work, compromise, and often include conflict.

This is the precise reason why people with these placements have such a hard time with relationships. Real relationships rarely live up to the ideal relationships they often dream about, and when confronted with these realities, the native may choose to quietly exit the relationship, leaving their partner wondering where it all went wrong.

People with these placements are attracted to the unattainable. When someone isn’t yours, it is easy to keep the fantasy of them alive because you’ll never be confronted with the realities of a real relationship with them.

This ties in to the fact they often find themselves in the role of the “other woman” or “other man”; they get all the romance and fantasy of a relationship without having to deal with the hard work that comes with it.

Similarly, Venus in Pisces natives are sometimes described as “cheaters” for the same reason; if in a relationships, the “realities” of the relationship may push them away from their mate into the arms of another.

Venus in Pisces will not be forthright about their infidelity, however; they are too concerned about hurting you to ever admit they were unfaithful. If confronted, Venus in Pisces may deny the infidelity with an innocent, “who, me?” approach. It’s rare for a Venus in Pisces to leave their mate; they’d rather you leave them than the other way around.

Strong Jupiter Placements

Look out for: Jupiter square Venus or Mars

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, excess, optimism, and pleasure. When it forms a challenging square to Venus or Mars in the natal chart, it can amplify desires, making moderation more difficult. Individuals with these aspects often have a strong appetite for romance, excitement, and physical gratification, and may be more likely to act impulsively when tempted.

Jupiter square Venus can indicate someone who loves pleasure, affection, and luxury. This aspect may lead to overindulgence in relationships, unrealistic expectations of love, or difficulty resisting romantic opportunities. If other indicators of infidelity are present in the chart, this aspect can increase the likelihood of seeking excitement or validation outside of a committed relationship.

Jupiter square Mars intensifies confidence, passion, and risk taking. These individuals often act first and think later, especially when driven by desire or excitement. They may have a strong sex drive, enjoy the thrill of the chase, and sometimes underestimate the consequences of their actions. If poorly expressed, this aspect can contribute to impulsive behavior, including sexual indiscretions.

On their own, however, neither of these aspects indicates that someone will be unfaithful. Many people with Jupiter square Venus or Mars are devoted partners who simply possess larger than life passions and desires.

For a Gemini Venus, this would mean having two relationships. Gemini is a mutable sign; they can adapt to different situations seamlessly, so they have the ability to flutter between two relationships with relative ease.

Venus in Gemini are big flirts; Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so they certainly have the gift of the gab and are talented at winning people over with their words.

Strong Sagittarius Placements

Sagittarius is the sign of freedom, adventure, and exploration. Individuals with strong Sagittarius energy, especially if they have the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, or several personal planets in Sagittarius, often crave variety, excitement, and new experiences. They tend to dislike feeling restricted or tied down by routines or controlling relationships.

In some cases, this desire for independence can make long term commitment more challenging, particularly if the individual feels trapped, bored, or emotionally confined.

However, strong Sagittarius placements do not indicate that someone will be unfaithful. Many people with prominent Sagittarius energy are loyal and honest partners who simply need relationships that allow for personal growth, trust, and independence.
