The Astrology of Lone Wolves

I consider a lone wolf as someone who prefers being on their own. People enjoy being alone for different reasons: some enjoy freedom and independence, while others are introverted and find people exhausting.

What aspects point to a Lone Wolf in a natal chart?

Planets in 12th house

Natal Planets (particularly inner planets and 1st house ruler) in the 12th house indicates someone who greatly prefers being on their own. In fact, people with this placement NEED to be alone. This is one of the strongest signs of introversion, as it indicates the native feels very drained by social interaction.

Whenever a planet in the 12th house person socializes too much, they get exhausted and need to retreat into their cave to recharge their batteries. The 12th house is a very sensitive house, and having planets there increases a person’s sensitivity to others. 12th house people easily pick up on the moods and feelings of those around them, which can make socializing for long periods very difficult and emotionally taxing.

Pisces is the natural ruler of the 12th house, so strong Pisces aspects can also signify someone who requires a lot of time alone.

Strong Uranus Aspects

Strong Uranus aspects in the natal chart point to someone very independent and individualistic. Uranus represents freedom and detachment, as well as eccentricity and unpredictability.

People with strong Uranus in their charts are usually enjoy being on their own, and generally have a detached view of relationships. Freedom is of utmost importance to them, so they tend to dislike when others are dependent or reliant on them. When people get too close, Uranus-heavy people feel easily smothered and want to escape.

I personally have Sun conjunct Uranus in my chart, and I feel very stifled by others. I prefer doing things on my own, because it gives me the freedom to do whatever I want. In general, I do not like depending on others, as it makes me feel trapped.

Aquarius Placements

Uranus is the natural ruler of the sign Aquarius, so people born in this sign can have lone wolf qualities. Aquarius is an impersonal, independent, freedom-loving sign, and dance to the beat of their own drum.

While they love spending time with friends and being a part of a group, Aquarius people are very independent and enjoy being on their own. Aquarius is an eccentric and quirky sign, and being alone allows Aquarius to let out their inner weird without judgement.

Strong Cancer or 4th House Placements

Cancer represents the home and family, as well as caring and nurturing. In general, I find that people born in this sign are often very private and reclusive. As with all water signs, Cancer is a sensitive sign, and pick up on the moods and feelings of others easily. As such, it makes sense they require time to themselves to recharge. As Cancer is the natural ruler of the 4th house, people born in this sign enjoy spending time at home most of all; it is where they feel most safe and secure.

I personally know 3 Cancer women very well, and they all live out in the wilderness (with their partners), and spend a lot of time alone in nature.

People with planets in the 4th house (especially Sun and Moon) are similar to those with Cancer placements, in that they enjoy spending time at home. Home is where 4th house people feel most comfortable and secure, so they might not enjoy going out at all.

Saturn in 11th House

Saturn in the 11th house can point to difficulties with friends and groups. With this placement, it is easy to feel alienated when you are in a crowd, which can make socializing and maintaining relationships very difficult.

People with Saturn in the 11th house take friendships very seriously. Perhaps, too seriously! Saturn represents responsibility and duty, so friendships can sometimes feel burdensome. As a result, the native might prefer being on their own rather than deal with the responsibility of friendship.

With this placement, group activities can feel awkward, as the native never feels they quite fit in with others.

Scorpio or 8th House Placements

Scorpio is an intensely private and not trust others easily. As the ruler of the 8th house of deep intimacy and transformation, Scorpio is not fond of superficiality. Instead, they look for real, authentic connections.

As a result, Scorpio or 8th house heavy people can be quite introverted until they find people they can trust.

Would you consider yourself a Lone Wolf? What aspects and placements do you have?

The Astrology of Beauty

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It really is. Poll a group of people of what they think of a certain celebrity and you will get different results.

In this article, I am going to talk about traditional aspects which are said to point to beauty. This is not to say that everyone with these aspects will be drop-dead gorgeous, as the entire chart must be considered.

Venus-Ascendant aspects

This one is obvious. Venus is the sign of beauty, and the Ascendant & first house represent our physical appearance. Many people with this aspect are considered universally beautiful.

Think of Angelina Jolie (Venus conjunct Ascendant), Elizabeth Taylor (Venus trine Ascendant), Kim Kardashian (Venue square Ascendant), and Beyonce (Venus conjunct Ascendant).

Even if these people are not traditionally beautiful, there is a charm or air about them which is pleasing to others. They take care of themselves and care about the way they look. They are usually pleasant in nature, which makes them attractive to others.

Venus in the 1st house

This works very similarly the Venus-Ascendant aspects I mentioned above. With Venus in the house of appearance, beauty is usually indicated.

People with Venus in the 1st house were born to be beautiful! This aspect also indicates someone with a beautiful, proportionate body. Women with this aspect are usually quite curvy and sexy!

Celebrities with Venus in the 1st house are Kourtney Kardashian, Audrey Hepburn, George Clooney, Zayn Malik, and Blake Lively.

Venus in aspect to the ruler of the 1st house

To determine the ruler of your first house, first determine which sign is on the cusp of that house (or your ‘rising sign’).

For example, Scarlett Johansson’s rising sign is Sagittarius, and its ruling planet is Jupiter. Scarlett’s Jupiter is conjunct her Venus in her 2nd house. Kim Kardashian’s ascendant is also in Sagittarius, and her Jupiter makes a wide conjunction to her natal Venus.

Venus in aspect to the ruler of the 1st house works very similarly to aspects to the ascendant. When this occurs, it endows the person with beauty, charm and grace.

Neptune in the 1st house

Neptune is the higher octave of Venus, so it makes sense that it would indicate beauty.

I find that Neptune is a different type of beauty, though – Neptunian women and men are glamorous, other-wordly. They stand out and look different and can captivate others very easily.

So many beautiful women have this aspect, including Kim Kardashian, Marilyn Monroe, Ariana Grande, as well as handsome men such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Tom Cruise.

This aspect can also point to those who are very fond of plastic surgery, make up, and photoshop (Kylie Jenner has this aspect, and I mentioned Kim Kardashian above). Thus is because Neptune blurs the line between fantasy and reality. This can lead these folks to present an altered view of themselves to the world.

By the way, this also works if Neptune is in aspect to the Ascendant or is in aspect to the 1st house ruler. I have found that Pisces rising individuals have similar characteristics.

Venus-Neptune aspects

Over and over again, I keep seeing this aspect in the charts of supermodels and other ‘beautiful people’.

This aspects give the native an ethereal type of beauty that gets noticed. They are dreamy-looking and usually have beautiful eyes. I personally love their sense of style.

Sun conjunct Ascendant or Leo Ascendant

While this is not a traditional beauty indicator, I’ve noticed that people with predominant Sun energy tend to be very attractive.

Leos are known for being ‘attention-getters’. Given that the Sun is the ruler of Leo, individuals with their Sun on their Ascendant often share similar qualities to Leo Ascendant individuals. I’ve noticed with my Leo Ascendant friends that they tend to always get tons of attention.

I went to Las Vegas a few years ago with a group of friends, and one of them had a Leo Ascendant (and Leo Sun). She is very pretty, don’t get me wrong, but I was amazed at the amount of men chasing after her. She didn’t even have to do much – men would just flock to her like bees on honey.

Leos just have that certain ‘something something’ that attract others to them. Leo represents confidence & sass, and they exude these qualities to the rest of the world.

How you perceive yourself informs how others perceive you, so it’s easy to understand why Leos are so irresistible!

Famous Leo Ascendant individuals include Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Heidi Klum. Some celebs with Sun conjunct their Ascendant are Kourtney Kardashian and Scarlett Johansson.

ANYWAY, this is not an exhaustive list. I will continue to add to it as I observe more.

There are tons of women and men out there who do not have any of these aspects, but are beautiful! So, please don’t take this list as the be-all end-all for beauty 🙂

If you are interested in attracting a certain someone, it is way more important to look at how their planets aspect your planets. This will tell you if they are attracted to you!

For example, my Venus is in Capricorn, so I find people with their Ascendant in Capricorn, Virgo, or Taurus absolutely stunning, even more so than other Ascendant signs.

Moon square/opposite Venus in the Natal Chart

The Moon and Venus are feminine planets, and often play a role in the kind of partner we desire. The Moon represents our emotions and what makes us feel secure, while Venus represents how we give and receive love.

What happens when these two planets are square or opposite each other in the natal chart?

Moon square/opposite Venus Meaning:

When these planets are in square/opposite aspect to one another, our emotional needs are at odds with our needs and capacity to love. This can cause many problems, as it is difficult for the Moon square/opposite Venus native to have both needs fulfilled by just one person.

For example, say I have Moon in Aries square Venus in Capricorn: on one hand, I am emotionally fulfilled by aggressive, direct, and passionate people. However, aggression and passion to not “agree” with my Venus in Capricorn nature; it is unattractive to me, as Venus in Capricorn prefers shy, stable, drama-free mates.

Also, we can think of this in terms of synastry: if my partner’s Mars is in Capricorn, and therefore is in conjunct aspect to my Venus, I feel a tremendous sexual attraction to my partner. However, it would also mean that my partner’s Mars squares my Moon, which leads to heated arguments and hurt feelings.

As a result, the native finds it difficult to find a partner who fulfills both their Moon and Venus needs, and might choose to have two partners: one who makes him emotionally secure, and one that makes him feel loved and attracted.

This can also indicate a Madonna-Whore complex; the native may have the inability to see his or her partner as both a nurturing type (moon) and a sexual being (Venus). To solve this dilemma, the native may choose to take on two partners in order to have these needs fulfilled.

Of course, not all Moon square/opposite Venus natives are cheaters! Nevertheless, people with this aspect find themselves “giving up” one planetary need at the expense of another in some way. They will disregard their Venusian needs for their Lunar needs, and vice-versa.

For instance, the native will ignore his or her emotional needs in order to feel attractive and valued, or will ignore his or her need for approval to satisfy her needs for security and comfort.

Peace and harmony are very important to these natives. This is why many people with this aspect can be regarded as “too nice”, or as “pushovers”, as they will often find themselves acquiescing to the needs of others at their own expense.

Strong Uranus Aspects

Aspects to look for:

  • Uranus square Venus
  • Uranus square Mars
  • Uranus square 7th house ruler

Uranus is the planet of freedom, rebellion, unpredictability. When in hard aspect to Venus or Mars, the native craves freedom, variety, and excitement in relationships.

It is difficult for these natives to “settle down” into a “normal” relationship because of many reasons. For instance, relationships might make them feel restricted, bored, or they may constantly crave “newness” in relationships.

Its the initial feeling of getting into a relationship which excites them, so as time goes by, their interest may gradually decrease for their partner and their relationship. Bored of the everyday, “hum-drum” aspects of “regular” relationships, the house native may seek excitement outside the relationship.

Remember: Having these aspects does not guarantee someone will cheat; in some cases, it simply means they might struggle with commitment.

Strong Neptune Aspects

Aspects to look for:

  • Venus in Pisces
  • Neptune square Venus
  • Neptune square Mars
  • Neptune square 7th house ruler

With this placement, idealization of partners in common. The native has an idealistic view of relationships and love in general, and is on a constant search for their soulmate.

They daydream about their ideal mate, and the kind of relationships they envision are other-worldly. Real relationships, however, are difficult; they require a tremendous amount of work, compromise, and often include conflict.

This is the precise reason why people with these placements have such a hard time with relationships. Real relationships rarely live up to the ideal relationships they often dream about, and when confronted with these realities, the native may choose to quietly exit the relationship, leaving their partner wondering where it all went wrong.

People with these placements are attracted to the unattainable. When someone isn’t yours, it is easy to keep the fantasy of them alive because you’ll never be confronted with the realities of a real relationship with them.

This ties in to the fact they often find themselves in the role of the “other woman” or “other man”; they get all the romance and fantasy of a relationship without having to deal with the hard work that comes with it.

Similarly, Venus in Pisces natives are sometimes described as “cheaters” for the same reason; if in a relationships, the “realities” of the relationship may push them away from their mate into the arms of another.

Venus in Pisces will not be forthright about their infidelity, however; they are too concerned about hurting you to ever admit they were unfaithful. If confronted, Venus in Pisces may deny the infidelity with an innocent, “who, me?” approach. It’s rare for a Venus in Pisces to leave their mate; they’d rather you leave them than the other way around.

Strong Jupiter Placements

Look out for: Jupiter square Venus or Mars

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, excess, optimism, and pleasure. When it forms a challenging square to Venus or Mars in the natal chart, it can amplify desires, making moderation more difficult. Individuals with these aspects often have a strong appetite for romance, excitement, and physical gratification, and may be more likely to act impulsively when tempted.

Jupiter square Venus can indicate someone who loves pleasure, affection, and luxury. This aspect may lead to overindulgence in relationships, unrealistic expectations of love, or difficulty resisting romantic opportunities. If other indicators of infidelity are present in the chart, this aspect can increase the likelihood of seeking excitement or validation outside of a committed relationship.

Jupiter square Mars intensifies confidence, passion, and risk taking. These individuals often act first and think later, especially when driven by desire or excitement. They may have a strong sex drive, enjoy the thrill of the chase, and sometimes underestimate the consequences of their actions. If poorly expressed, this aspect can contribute to impulsive behavior, including sexual indiscretions.

On their own, however, neither of these aspects indicates that someone will be unfaithful. Many people with Jupiter square Venus or Mars are devoted partners who simply possess larger than life passions and desires.

Strong Gemini Placements

Gemini is a sign which craves variety and gets bored at the drop of a hat. In Venus, Gemini craves variety in relationships. This sign needs to move around, experiment, and communicate with others in order to keep itself happy.

The sign Gemini is represented by the twins, which reflects Gemini’s dual nature. Indeed, you will often find Gemini-influenced natives having at least “two” of everything.

For a Gemini Venus, this would mean having two relationships. Gemini is a mutable sign; they can adapt to different situations seamlessly, so they have the ability to flutter between two relationships with relative ease.

Venus in Gemini are big flirts; Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so they certainly have the gift of the gab and are talented at winning people over with their words.

Strong Sagittarius Placements

Sagittarius is the sign of freedom, adventure, and exploration. Individuals with strong Sagittarius energy, especially if they have the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, or several personal planets in Sagittarius, often crave variety, excitement, and new experiences. They tend to dislike feeling restricted or tied down by routines or controlling relationships.

In some cases, this desire for independence can make long term commitment more challenging, particularly if the individual feels trapped, bored, or emotionally confined.

However, strong Sagittarius placements do not indicate that someone will be unfaithful. Many people with prominent Sagittarius energy are loyal and honest partners who simply need relationships that allow for personal growth, trust, and independence.

Moon square Venus:

This is especially true for straight men with this aspect. JFK has this aspect, and he was known for his affairs. The Moon and Venus are feminine planets, and often play a role in the kind of partner we desire.

The Moon represents our emotions and what makes us feel secure, while Venus represents how we give and receive love. When these planets are in square aspect to one another, our emotional needs are at odds with our needs and capacity to love.

This can cause many problems, as it is difficult for the Moon square Venus native to have both needs fulfilled by just one person.

As a result, the native finds it difficult to find a partner who fulfills both their Moon and Venus needs, and might choose to have two partners: one who makes them emotionally secure, and one that makes them feel loved and attracted.

This can also indicate a Madonna-Whore complex; the native may have the inability to see the partner as both a nurturing type (moon) and a sexual being (Venus). To solve this dilemma, the native may choose to take on two partners in order to have these needs fulfilled.

Love style:

When Venus is in Capricorn, duty, commitment, hard work, and reality are at the forefront of our love lives. Venus in Capricorn natives do not take relationships lightly; on the contrary, they see relationships as “work”, and thus take their partnerships very seriously.

People with this placement suffer from a strong fear of rejection, which can lead to missed opportunities in love. They also may suffer from a lack of confidence in regards to their self-worth; they may feel “unworthy” of love, and are often wary of their partners (at least, in the beginning).

Venus in Capricorn natives can appear cold, uninterested, and aloof towards their partners, but this does not mean they are not interested. Opening up one’s heart, in their view, is dangerous, as it increases the opportunity for them to get hurt.

Vulnerability is what they fear most of all.  Venus in Capricorn is also very preoccupied with appearing cool and collected, and dislike showing their emotions.

If you hurt a Venus Capricorn, they will do everything to make you think it doesn’t bother them, even if it hurts inside.

How to get a Venus Capricorn to commit:

It can take a very long time for a Venus in Capricorn native to commit to you. It’s not that they are not interested, but they prefer to build a strong, secure foundation for a relationship rather than  to “jump right in”.

Indeed, Venus in Capricorn are “risk-averse” when it come to matters of the heart. They must be 100% certain they can trust you, and that you’re capable of having a long-term committed relationship before they give their heart to you.

The best way to get a Venus Capricorn to commit is to be patient. People with this placement are petrified of getting hurt, so they often hide their feelings about you under a veil of aloofness and emotional distancing, which can be confusing for their partners.

When a Venus Capricorn commits, however, they make excellent partners. While they aren’t affectionate in the traditional way, they show their love through practical means by doing things for you.

What kind of partner they seek:

Venus in Capricorn natives are attracted to older, mature, successful partners. They are also attracted to business types. Basically, stability and security is what attracts them most. Partners who appear to “have it together” are very appealing to them.

Venus in Pisces: How They Approach Love and Relationships ⭐

Venus, the planet of love, relationships, beauty, harmony, fairness and justice is exalted in the sign of Pisces.

Pisces, the natural ruler of the 12th house, represents the collective unconscious. Here, the boundaries between “I” and “we” are blurred. Pisces is ruled by the planet Neptune.

Pisces represents compassion, self-sacrifice, escapism, drugs, addictions, deception, dreams, and illusions.

Venus in Pisces natives are capable of unconditional love. Venus in Pisces natives don’t care about what you look like, what your job is, who your friends are, or how much money you make.

Instead, Venus in Pisces sees the beauty in all people. They can generally find something they like about every person they meet, and tend to see the best in people.

This can also mean that they see things in people that aren’t even there.  This can lead to choosing partners that are not good for them, who use them and take advantage of their compassionate nature.

Instead of acknowledging this, Venus in Pisces makes excuses for their mates’ faults in order to keep the dream alive. It is for this reason that Venus in Pisces natives may find themselves in abusive relationships, love triangles, and the like.

Venus in Pisces may even choose partners who have serious problems (i.e. mental health issues, addicts, etc.) with the goal of “saving” that person, as they are willing to sacrifice their own happiness to be of help to others.

With this placement, idealization of partners in common. Venus in Pisces has an idealistic view of relationships and love in general, and is on a constant search for their soulmate.

They daydream about their ideal mate, and the kind of relationships they envision are other-worldly. Real relationships, however, are difficult; they require a tremendous amount of work, compromise, and often include conflict.

Through my communications with people in relationships with Venus in Pisces individuals, I often hear that natives with this placement are prone to entering and exiting the lives of their mates whenever they wish.

Venus in Pisces are incredibly romantic, and certainly have a way with words, which tends to win partners over and compensate for their apparent lack of direction and stability in their relationships.

Mercury in Aries creates a quick, direct, and energetic mind. These individuals think fast and communicate in a straightforward manner. They are not afraid to speak their opinions and often prefer honest, immediate conversations over subtle hints.

Because their thoughts move quickly, Mercury in Aries can sometimes jump to conclusions or become impatient when others disagree with them. They enjoy debate and mental challenges but may need to practice slowing down and considering different perspectives.

These individuals excel at research, problem-solving, and learning complex information. They notice details that others often overlook and have a natural ability to analyze situations logically.

Mercury in Virgo individuals are often excellent students and communicators, with strong attention to grammar, structure, and accuracy.

Mercury in Libra

Mercury in Libra produces a diplomatic, balanced, and thoughtful communication style. These individuals naturally consider multiple viewpoints before forming opinions.

Because Pisces represents empathy and the collective unconscious, Mercury in Pisces people may naturally pick up on subtle emotional signals and hidden meanings.

They are often gifted listeners, counselors, artists, writers, and creative thinkers. Their imagination is powerful, and they may have strong intuitive abilities.

The challenge with Mercury in Pisces is staying focused and organized. Their thoughts may wander, causing them to jump between ideas or lose track of details. They may also avoid direct confrontation and sometimes soften the truth to avoid hurting someone’s feelings.
