Mercury represents our communication and intellectual processes. Neptune represents dreams, illusions, and imagination.
When Mercury and Neptune are conjunct in synastry, a sweet, telepathic link exists between the two of you. Neptune stimulates Mercury’s artistic side, while Mercury has the ability to put Neptune’s lofty dreams into words.
On the downside, there may be a tendency to tell each other what they want to hear. Indeed, exaggeration and deception in communication may plague your relationship. Neptune confuses Mercury due to the fact that Neptune is evasive and abstract in speech.
The threat of deception is greater when one person’s Neptune is square or opposite another person’s Mercury. Mercury may find the Neptune person too abstract or vague, while Neptune may find Mercury overly practical and logical. Over time, Mercury’s trust may fade for Neptune, and Neptune may feel misunderstood by Mercury.
The harmonious aspects (sextile, trine) between Mercury and Neptune in synastry are much easier to handle. In this case, the Neptune person stimulates Mercury’s imagination, and smoothes out Mercury’s hard, overly-logical intellectual edges.
The two of you enjoy talking about the arts, your dreams, and spirituality. There is an intuitive understanding of what the other is saying. In fact, you may feel you “get” each other, without having to say anything out loud.
In synastry, Chiron contacts indicate that healing can be achieved through your union. The planet person may (inadvertently) push Chiron’s buttons, or vice-versa, reminding him of past hurts he has been carrying throughout his life.
Indeed, Chiron’s energy is both healing, and painful. The Chiron person has the ability to cleanse the planet person’s wound and guide them away from what has been hurting them.
Chiron-Sun Aspects in Synastry:
The Sun person learns much from the Chiron person, and perhaps discovers her life purpose. Harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Sun, Chiron trine Sun, Chiron sextile Sun) indicate mutual trust, respect, compassion, and love.
The Chiron person supplies understanding and compassion that can heal the painful issues related to the Sun person’s identity or childhood. In the process, Chiron is able to heal his own wounds.
Hard aspects (Chiron square Sun, Chiron opposite Sun), on the other hand, are more difficult. Overcoming old hurts are likely to occur if this synastry aspect is present. The couple may inadvertently contribute to further emotional pain.
Chiron-Moon Aspects in Synastry:
Chiron and the Moon are both sensitive planets. When one person’s Chiron makes a harmonious aspect to another person’s Moon (Chiron conjunct Moon, Chiron trine Moon, Chiron sextile Moon), the relationship acts as a comforting, nurturing avenue for mutual healing.
Hard aspects between Chiron and the Moon in synastry (Chiron square Moon, Chiron opposite Moon) indicate that the Moon person is likely to trigger past painful memories of the Chiron person. The Chiron person’s reaction to these hurts may surprise the both of them! The Chiron person might find the Moon person insensitive, which could, in turn, offend the Moon person. Hurt feelings are common in this relationship.
As a couple, their job is to understand that these emotional reactions are symptomatic of past hurts, and learn to move forward.
Chiron-Mercury Aspects in Synastry:
When one person’s Chiron makes a harmonious aspect to another person’s Moon (Chiron conjunct Mercury, Chiron trine Mercury, Chiron sextile Mercury), the couple shares a healing communicative and intellectual bond. The Mercury person helps the Chiron person put their pain into words and move past childhood wounds.
Hard aspects between Chiron and the Mercury in synastry (Chiron square Mercury, Chiron opposite Mercury) indicate that the Mercury person can be hurtful with their words. The Chiron person is very sensitive to what the Mercury person says, as it triggers past wounds and childhood trauma. Extra compassion and care should be observed in this relationship, for the threat of hurt feelings is very high.
Chiron-Venus Aspects in Synastry:
Many astrology websites state this aspect is an indication of “true love”.
Harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Venus, Chiron sextile Venus, Chiron trine Venus) indicate the couple has the ability to heal each other from the pains of previous relationships. This is a strong, loving bond, which serves to cleanse them of past, damaging relationship habits and embrace true love. The planet person is soothing to the Chiron person, while the Chiron person helps the Venus person discover the benefits of a loving relationship.
The hard aspects (Chiron square Venus, Chiron opposite Venus) are more difficult to handle. In this case, healing does not come as easily. Together, the couple will have to work through past hurts in order to move forward. They may inadvertently remind each other of past relationship difficulties.
For example, I was in a short-term relationship with a man whose Venus conjuncts my Chiron. I reminded him very much of a past girlfriend, with whom he had a painful, tumultuous relationship. In fact, I even looked a bit like her!
There were so many similarities between her and I. Our conjunction is in Gemini, so through conversation, I helped him deal with the hurts he had been holding on to. However, I ultimately ended up hurting him in the same way she did.
Chiron-Mars Aspects in Synastry:
Harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Mars, Chiron trine Mars, Chiron sextile Mars) indicate healing through sex and joint action. Past hurts in regards to sexuality and aggression are healed through this union.
Hard aspects (Chiron square Mars, Chiron opposite Mars) between Chiron and Mars in synastry can be difficult to handle. Through conflict, Mars person may (inadvertently) re-open Chiron’s past wounds and hurts.
Chiron may feel the Mars person is unsympathetic and cruel, while the Mars person may find the Chiron person overly-sensitive. Chiron may also (inadvertently) re-open Mars’ wounds, as they relate to sexuality, drive, and action.
The harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Jupiter, Chiron trine Jupiter, Chiron sextile Jupiter) between Chiron and Jupiter in synastry signify that the couple will be able to heal one another from past hurts, and gain understanding into their relationship habits. This indicates the two have compatible values. The Jupiter brings optimism and good will to the Chiron person.
The hard aspects (Chiron square Jupiter, Chiron opposite Jupiter) are a bit trickier to deal with. In this case, there can be a clash between the desire to grow and the pain of past wounds. Mutual understanding and patience is key to mutual growth.
Chiron-Saturn Aspects in Synastry:
In the case of harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Saturn, Chiron trine Saturn, Chiron sextile Saturn), the Saturn person brings structure and discipline to the Chiron person’s life, which will help them deal with and heal from past wounds.
The hard aspects (Chiron square Saturn, Chiron opposite Saturn) indicate the Saturn person has, or at least desires, a great deal of control over the relationship. Both parties are likely to feel their own limitations in each other’s presence.
Chiron may make Saturn feel inadequate, while Chiron may feel their inner healing is blocked or restricted by the Saturn person. Chiron may wish to heal the Saturn person’s wounds and attend to his needs, but Saturn does not let that happen.
Chiron-Uranus Aspects in Synastry:
In the case of harmonious aspects between Chiron and Uranus (Chiron conjunct Uranus, Chiron trine Uranus, Chiron sextile Uranus) , the Uranus person excitement and a refreshing energy to the Chiron person’s life, which will help them deal with and heal from past wounds. The Uranus person teaches the Chiron person to develop detachment from the past and look towards the future. They may also show Chiron new and inventive ways to harness their healing powers.
The hard aspects (square, opposition) between Chiron and Uranus indicate the Uranus person’s instability and unpredictability brings pain to the Chiron person. There may be a lot of attraction between the couple, but Chiron may find Uranus too unreliable and impersonal for a mutually healing relationship.
Chiron-Neptune Aspects in Synastry:
Harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Neptune, Chiron trine Neptune, Chiron sextile Neptune) between Chiron and Neptune in synastry indicate mutual compassion, unconditional love, and understanding between the partners.
The hard aspects (Chiron square Neptune, Chiron opposite Neptune) between Chiron and Neptune indicate that fear and insecurity plague the relationship. Past hurts affect the couple; each person may spend more time nursing their own wounds, rather than looking at the other person’s point of view.
The Neptune person may feel confused as to why the Chiron person reacts negatively to her actions. Chiron may feel that Neptune misunderstands where he is coming from.
Chiron-Pluto Aspects:
Harmonious aspects (Chiron conjunct Pluto, Chiron trine Pluto, Chiron sextile Pluto) between Chiron and Pluto in synastry indicate a healing and transformative relationship. Chiron represents our inner wounds and our healing abilities, while Pluto represents deep transformation and regeneration, so this aspect works beautifully in composite. Both partners feel stronger and more resilient when they are together. They are not afraid to
The hard aspects (Chiron square Pluto, Chiron opposite Pluto) between Chiron and Pluto can be problematic in a relationship. The Pluto person might manipulate the Chiron person and use their past wounds against them. In a romantic relationship, this aspect can indicate a dynamic where one person (or both) may feel powerless or wounded in some way, while the other person may struggle with issues of control or manipulation. This can lead to a power struggle in the relationship, with both parties feeling a sense of tension and conflict.
Chiron conjunct North Node Aspect:
Chiron conjunct North Node in synastry indicates a strong karmic link between the two people. Chiron represents our wounds and our healing abilities, while the North Node represents our soul’s true purpose, and the qualities and experiences we are meant to develop in this lifetime.
This aspect indicates that the two individuals are meant to support each other in their healing journeys, and may have a strong spiritual connection or shared goal in this lifetime. It’s important for both individuals to approach the relationship with openness, vulnerability, and a willingness to work through any challenges that arise. The Chiron person’s healing abilities brings the Node person towards their true purpose.
Overall, Chiron conjunct North Node in synastry can be a powerful aspect that can bring about deep transformation and healing in a relationship, particularly on the part of the Node person. Whether or not the Node person is ready for this healing, they will ultimately feel a strong pull towards the Chiron person.
Check the house placement and sign of this conjunction, as well as the aspects it receives.
Chiron conjunct South Node Aspects:
Chiron conjunct South Node in synastry can indicate a past-life connection between two people that may bring up old wounds and patterns that need to be addressed in this lifetime. Chiron represents our wounds and healing journey, while the South Node represents our past lives and karmic patterns.
In South Node connections, it is usually the planet person who is indebted to the Node person from a past lifetime. While the connection feels very comfortable and familiar, it does not offer room for much growth, and the couple tends to get stuck in familiar patters and habits they cultivated in past lifetimes.
When Chiron is conjunct the South Node in synastry, it can suggest that the couple has a shared history that needs to be worked through in order to move forward. This means the couple will do a lot of learning and healing in this relationship in order to clear past karma. It’s important for both parties to approach the relationship with an open mind, heart, and a commitment to healing and growth.
What house does this conjunction reside in each of your charts? This will give you clues as to where this karmic energy will manifest in your lives.
Chiron conjunct Vertex Aspects in Synastry:
Chiron conjunct Vertex in synastry indicates a fated, karmic bond. Healing and transformation are the focus of this relationship, as well as compassion and understanding. Together, the couple works together to heal each other and themselves through this relationship. Both partners experience much growth and transformation through this relationship due to the compassion and sensitivity they receive from each other.
The world was shocked at the announcement that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in a relationship. I, like many of my peers, dismissed the union as a publicity stunt. However, looking at their synastry, it seems there is more than meets the eye with this pair. Let’s take a look at their synastry…
Kanye’s Gemini Sun and Jupiter conjunct Kim’s Descendant. This, in itself, is one of the most powerful synastry aspects, and is often found in the synastry charts of married couples. Kanye encapsulates what Kim looks for in a mate. As a Sagittiarus Ascendant, Kim is attracted to men with Geminian qualities such as intellectual curiosity and a love of variety. Kanye’s Jupiter infuses her with optimism and prosperity through their union.
Kanye’s Neptune in Sagittarius conjuncts Kim’s Ascendant/Venus conjunction almost exactly. This is another great, and very strong, aspect. In Kanye, Kim sees her soul mate, and tends to overlook his flaws. Kim must take care that she is seeing Kanye for who he is, rather than what she believes him to be.
Kim’s Mars is conjunct Kanye’s Ascendant. In a woman’s chart, her Mars sign reveals what kind of man she is attracted to and what turns her on. With this combination, Kanye’s physical appearance encapsulates Kim’s idea of her “ideal man”.
Kanye’s Sun/Jupiter conjunction opposes Kim’s Venus/Neptune conjunction. Oppositions are powerful aspects in synastry, particularly when they fall along one of the person’s Ascendant/Descendant axis. Kanye’s Sun in opposition to Kim’s Venus is a binding aspect for both parties. Kim adores Kanye, and Kanye finds Kim beautiful and charming. They enjoy socializing and attending parties together.
Kim’s Neptune opposes Kanye’s Sun, so again, we see idealization, this time on the part of Kanye. Once again, Kanye must be careful he is seeing Kim for who she really is, rather than what he believes her to be.
Kanye’s Jupiter opposing Kim’s Venus is a benevolent aspect. Kim gives Kanye the benefit of the doubt and is easy to forgive, while Kanye spoils Kim with gifts and pleasures.
Kanye’s Saturn trines Kim’s Venus, which is a stabilizing aspect. They find it easy to settle into a committed relationship with each other. They are less inclined to feel burdened by this relationship; they feel comfortable in their commitment to each other. This sentiment is reinforced by Kim’s Saturn in trine aspect to Kanye’s Sun. These harmonious Saturn aspects promote longevity and responsibility to each other.
Kanye’s Saturn also conjuncts Kim’s Moon. Again, this is a very stabilizing, binding aspect. Thankfully, this conjunction is not afflicted by other planets. This is an indication of a serious relationship. On the down side, Kim may find Kanye a bit serious or harsh, and may be afraid to express her feelings out of fear of Kanye’s disapproval. Over time, this can lead to emotional distancing due to a feeling of being misunderstood by the Saturn person. Thankfully, these two have “lighter” aspects to even things out.
Kanye’s Venus and Mars oppose Kim’s Sun. This indicates a considerable physical and sexual attraction on Kanye’s part. Kim encapsulates what Kanye finds beautiful and sexy. Kanye’s Mars in opposition to Kim’s Sun can lead to heated conflicts. Kanye’s Venus and Mars are situated in Kim’s fifth house of love, romance, and children (!). Kanye stimulates Kim’s desire for fun and romance, as well as procreation.
Kim’s Venus falls in Kanye’s 4th house, which serves to stimulate Kanye’s love of home. Kanye loves spending time at home with Kim; with Kim, Kanye feels comfortable, nurtured, and cared for.
Another powerful aspect these two share is Kanye’s North Node conjunct Kim’s Sun, Pluto, Mercury, and Jupiter! Wow! The North Node represents “where we’re going” in this lifetime, while the South Node represents “where we’ve been”. With Kim, Kanye feels like he is “going somewhere”. Kanye feels a powerful pull towards Kim, which can be exciting, but scary, at the same time! Kim pulls Kanye out of his comfort zone. He grows a lot through this relationship, especially through the lens of personal growth (Sun), transformation and sex (Pluto), intellectual communication (Mercury), and beliefs (Jupiter). However, Kim’s North Node is unaspected (by conjunction or opposition) to Kanye’s planets, so it is Kanye that will benefit most from this union, in terms of his personal growth.
My prediction: Kim and Kanye have surprisingly wonderful synastry! They have many “soul mate” aspects, and I can see this relationship lasting a long time. Two problems: Kanye’s own chart features a Uranus-Venus opposition, which can indicate a fear of commitment and “settling down”. He is also a Gemini Sun, which adds to his need to “move around” and not be tied down. Indeed, Geminis tend to bore easily!
The second problem I see is the amount of *unilateral* nodal connections between Kanye’s North Node and Kim’s Libra Stellium. Depending on Kanye’s stage in life, he might not be ready to embrace his North Node at the present time. His North Node is in Libra, and his South Node is in Aries. His Aries South Node implies that he is preoccupied with himself and his independence. For Kanye, it is always about HIM. Perhaps Kim threatens his sense of independence by stimulating his desire for partnership. Kim might feel like she’s constantly “giving” in the relationship, which can be draining.
Interestingly enough, it looks like Kim and Kanye got together right when transiting Saturn was on his North Node, and on her Libra Stellium.
I think Saturn’s trek through Scorpio, beginning on October 5th, will be trying for the couple. Saturn will conjunct Kanye’s natal Uranus and oppose his Venus/Mars/Chiron stellium in Taurus near the end of the year, so he may feel the need to break free from Kim. Alternatively, the transit may “mute” these energies and compel him to settle down. Either way, Kim and Kanye are in for some changes, and soon!
Progressed charts are calculated by adding one day for each year you are born to your natal chart. For example, if you were born on January 1, 1980, and you are now 25 years old, your progressed chart would be calculated by drafting a chart for January 26, 1980.
Progressions show trends which set off major events in your life, and are reinforced by the transits you are experiencing at the time.
You can check your progressions on astro.com. Go to the Extended Chart section, and choose “Natal and Progressed Chart.”
One of the most reliable indications in the progressed chart of meeting a new mate is to look at the condition of your progressed Venus or your 7th house ruler in your Chart, as well as progressions to your natal Venus or your 7th house ruler by other planets. Here are some progressions which indicate the beginning of an important relationship.
Progressed Venus to Ascendant/Descendant axis (or progressed Ascendant to Venus):
The Ascendant/Descendant axis represents the “self” and the “other”. The Ascendant represents our self-image and how we approach the world, while the Descendant represents our one-on-one partnerships, including marriage partners and business associates.
When progressed Venus makes an aspect to our AC/DC axis, we feel more sociable, attractive, and loving, which helps us attract partners into our lives. The same goes for when progressed Ascendant aspects one’s natal Venus. For example, I met my first boyfriend when progressed Venus was sextile my natal Ascendant.
Progressed Planets to 7th house ruler:
The ruler of your 7th house represents your closest personal relationships, and the type of people you attract is described by the condition of this planet. For example, the ruler of my 7th house is Gemini, so my 7th house ruler is Mercury. My Mercury is conjunct Neptune, so my relationships are very confusing and disorienting. Check the aspects and house placement of your 7th house ruler to learn more about the type of people you attract.
Progressed planets making as aspect to your 7th house ruler can signify a new relationship. The 7th house also represent marriage and commitment, so relationships started at this time have long-term potential.
Aspects to look out for:
Progressed Ascendant in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Sun in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Mercury in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Venus in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Mars in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Ascendant in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Outer planets tend to move more slowly. If you already have an aspect between an outer planet and your 7th house ruler in your natal chart, and the aspect is separating, keep an eye on the outer planet’s progressions. As the outer planet progresses, the aspect becomes stronger. I find the aspect is strongest when the progressed outer planet is within half a degree applying to half a degree separating.
Progressed Jupiter in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Saturn in *positive* aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Uranus in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Neptune in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed Pluto in aspect to your 7th house ruler
Progressed North Node in aspect to 7th house ruler
Progressed 7th house ruler in aspect to natal planets:
Your progressed 7th house ruler is also an effective way of timing love. Because the 7th house ruler represents the marriage partner, its progressed aspects and placement can indicate a new relationship coming into your life.
The progressed 7th house ruler in aspect to the natal 7th house ruler is also very positive. To explain, say you have natal Venus in retrograde in your 7th house. At some point in your life, your progressed Venus might change directions and return to its natal position. If your progressed Venus is conjunct your natal 7th house Venus, this is a good indication of love entering your life.
Progressed Venus to natal Sun (or prog. Sun to Venus):
This is one of the most reliable indications of the beginning of a major relationship. This is often the time when we meet the “love of our life”. This is also true of progressed Sun aspecting one’s natal Venus.
Both progressions indicate a time where we feel most attractive, and thus our powers of attraction are most potent. This is often the time we meet our marriage partner. Progressed Sun conjunct natal Venus or Progressed Venus conjunct natal Sun are classic love indicators.
Progressed Venus to natal Moon:
This progression brings about a loving relationship which is often characterised by feelings of dependency, mutual support, and emotional development. The conjunction, sextile, and trine bring generally pleasing, supportive contacts, while the square and opposition often bring resistance and adjustments in regards to the direction of your relationship. The same goes for progressed Moon to Venus contacts.
Progressed Venus to natal Mars:
This progression often brings about an intense, sexual union. Passion is at the forefront of your relationships. This can also indicate a time in which you meet the person you have children with.
Progressed Venus to Jupiter:
This progression often brings about partners from a foreign culture. Events like marriage are likely to take place during this progression. This also indicates a positive time for socializing and making new friends. The same goes for progressed Jupiter on one’s natal Venus.
Progressed Venus to Saturn:
This progression can bring about heavy commitments, and might bring relationships with older partners. This time is wonderful for beginning long-term relationships, such as marriage. This is especially true of Venus conjunct, sextile, or trine one’s natal Saturn.
In fact, my mother met my father when Venus was conjunct her natal Saturn. My father is 12 years older than my mother. The square and opposition tend to have the opposite effect; it is a time of loneliness and disconnect from others.
Venus has just moved one degree past squaring my natal Saturn, and I couldn’t be happier about it. The last few years have been incredibly unsuccessful in regards to love, my sense of loneliness increased greatly, and my social life was practically non-existent.
This progression brings different, exciting relationships into our lives. We reject convention and tradition under this influence, so this transit can also be an indication of separation from a partner in favor of a more exciting, yet unstable, relationship.
This is a time where your love life takes a “walk on the wild side” with someone different than what you’re used to. For example, your new mate could be from a different cultural background, or you may begin a long-distance relationship. Hard aspects between progressed Venus and Uranus are especially indicative of (sudden) separations.
Progressed Venus to Neptune:
This progression can indicate the time when you find your soul mate. Your sensitivity and compassion for others increases during this time, and you feel more open to love in general.
If the progression is a square or opposition, you may be deceived or disillusioned by a mate. The trine and sextile are generally positive times. Marriages often occur under this influence.
Progressed Venus to Pluto:
This progression awakens powerful emotions, and changes the way you approach love and sexuality, as well as intimacy. This is a time when we are attracted to the taboo and the forbidden, and this can manifest through our choice of partner (i.e. falling in love with an “unavailable” person), or through sex (exploring sexual taboos with one’s partner).
Relationships begun under this transit are marked by intensity, obsession, possessiveness, and power games. The sextile and trine are intense in a pleasing, manageable way, while the conjunction, square, and opposition can lead to extreme jealousy, obsession, and even sexual/financial exploitation or abuse.
Progressed planets in the natal 7th house:
Natal planets progressing into the 7th house indicate relationship changes. Sometimes, when a progressed planet enters the 7th house, the results are not immediate. Look at the aspects the progressed planet makes to your other progressed and natal planets while it is in the 7th house.
If a progressed planet in your 7th house makes an aspect to your natal 7th house ruler, or Venus, a significant relationship is likely coming your way. If negatively aspected, there may be relationship issues or negative experiences.
There are numerous ways of predicting the beginning of a relationship. One of the most reliable indications is when an outer planet (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto) makes an aspect to your natal Venus, the ruler of your 5th house, and/or the ruler of your 7th house. For this section, I will only refer to transits to natal Venus, but you can apply these transits to the ruler of your 5th and/or 7th houses, as well.
Please note: while transits to to Venus and the 7th house can indicate the beginning of a relationship, you also need to look at other indicators, such as progressions, to see how significant the relationship will be. You can read more about progressions in Part 2.
Outer planets transiting in aspect to your natal Venus (or the ruler of your 7th house): often indicate the beginning (or ending- depending on the transit) of a relationship. The planet transiting your Venus and the aspect that planet makes to your Venus will tell you what kind of relationship will come into your life. Let’s review the nature of the outer planets, and discuss the type of relationship that will enter your life when it makes an aspect to your natal Venus.
Jupiter transits your natal Venus | Jupiter transits your 7th house ruler
When Jupiter conjuncts, sextiles, trines, opposes, or squares your Venus or the ruler of your 7th house, your desire for a partner and loving feelings expand. Jupiter is the planet of abundance, good luck, and expansion. Jupiter thus expands your love sector during this time and increases your opportunities for romance. This is especially true for the conjunction, trine and sextile aspects. With the square and opposition, you may take foolish risks in love. While Jupiter transits, on their own, do not necessarily indicate the beginning of a long-term, life changing romance, it can indicate a positive time for dating and creating new social connections.
I do not think Jupiter-Venus aspects on their own are enough to bring love into your life, though. Other transits need to be in play
Saturn transits your natal Venus | Saturn transits your 7th house ruler
Saturn is the planet of restriction, realism, commitment, and hard work. When Saturn conjuncts, sextiles, or trines your natal Venus or 7th house ruler, you become more serious about settling down and are attracted to stable, mature relationships. Indeed, this is a very commitment-friendly transit because you are more attracted to long-term relationships.
Many people find themselves settling down or reinforcing commitments to their partners during this time. If you begin a relationship at this time, it is likely to be serious and long-lasting. Strong Saturn contact should show up in composite and synastry charts, and your partner is likely to have strong Saturn/Capricorn aspects in his/her chart.
Uranus transits your natal Venus | Uranus transits your 7th house ruler
When Uranus aspects your natal Venus or 7th house ruler by transit, you crave excitement in your relationships. Uranus often brings us non-traditional relationships/partners (i.e. partners from a different culture, background, etc.), which usually begin (and end) very suddenly. Timing Uranus transits is very simple, as events tend to occur at the time Uranus makes an exact aspect to your Venus (by exact, I mean the aspect is within 11 minutes of exact).
Uranus-Venus relationships are characterized as sudden, impermanent, non-traditional, and exciting. What usually happens is a sudden encounter with the “man/woman of your dreams”, and the native often experiences “love at first sight”. The energy between the two is electric and exciting, but not stable, and the relationship often lacks any real commitment. Uranus transits serve to jolt us awake through events that force us to throw out any previous behaviors or habits we tend to cling to.
This is especially true for emotionally clingy, needy people, or people who are inherently stable and afraid of change. Uranus relationships are difficult to control, and manipulative tactics are completely useless in getting what we want out of the relationship. The native must learn to “let go” of expectations and control, or he or she will suffer greatly from this transit.
Because Uranus is characterized by impermanence and excitement, many find that relationships begun under this influence often end when the initial spark fizzles and one of the partners gets bored and feels the need to move on.
Sometimes, when the transit is over, the native may say, “what was I thinking, being in that relationship?” due to the fact that partners are generally chosen for the fact that they are “different” and “exciting”, rather than suitable, which becomes more and more apparent as Uranus moves away from their natal Venus.
This period can also be marked by increased promiscuity on the part of the native. Uranus on one’s Venus increases one’s magnetism, so the likelihood of meeting several partners increases. A good friend of mine characterised her Uranus opposite Venus transits as: “Lots of one-night stands, and lots of partying.”
This is especially true with the conjunction, square and opposition. Sextiles and trines are generally more stable influences, but have that Uranian spark to them nonetheless. The partners you find under this transit are generally Aquarius or Uranian, or the syanstry or composite charts have strong Aquarian/Uranian influences.
Neptune transits your natal Venus | Neptune transits your 7th house ruler
When Neptune aspects your natal Venus or the ruler of the 7th house, your sensitivity and compassion towards others increases. Neptune represents delusion, illusion, dreams, addictions, and self-sacrifice. Under this influence, you are more likely to “see what you want” in partners, which can often lead to disappointment once the transit is over.
Under this transit, we are wearing rose-colored glasses; we see beauty in all people, and only want to think the best of them. This influence often brings a relationship into our lives, and we often believe this person is our soul mate. We idealize the person and make excuses for their faults, and ignore indications that the person is anything less than perfect. Relationship behaviors we would not normally approve of are now regarded as acceptable.
If the aspect is a conjunction, square, or opposition, the native must be extra careful to not over-idealize the partner and ignore red flags, as the threat of deception is strong. As Neptune moves away from Venus, the native becomes less enchanted by their mate; the native begins to see the person as they really are, which often leads to disappointment. The end of the transit can also manifest in the discovery of infidelity on the part of the partner; the native ignored red flags and made excuses for their partner’s behavior instead of facing the truth about the situation.
The partners you find under this influence are generally Piscean, or have strong Neptune in the chart. The Synastry and Composite charts generally have strong Neptune or Pisces aspects/placement.
Pluto transits your natal Venus | Pluto transits your 7th house ruler
When Pluto transits your natal Venus, you are no longer satisfied with superficial relationship; you want something deep, complex, and consuming. Pluto is the planet of “death”, therefore there is usually a death of some kind in regards to relationships (i.e. death of an existing relationship, death of previous relationship behaviours). For example this influence can also bring about an affair, or finding out one’s partner has been having an affair. This is a very “sexy” transit, and the attractions you have during this transit are often intense and obsessive, and sexual drives are generally strong.
Under this influence, you often meet a person with whom you have a life-changing and complex relationship. You feel magically drawn to this person, and might not understand why. This is because Pluto represents the unconscious, so your feelings for this person are generally the result of unconscious forces you find difficult to control. You might feel obsessed and possessive over this person, as Pluto brings an “all or nothing” energy to your relationships. Power struggles are thus common under this influence.
The physical component of the relationship is generally very strong; the need for physical closeness under this transit is intense. Pluto also represents the taboo, and the forbidden, so one is often attracted to unavailable partners under the influence of this transit (i.e. married, gay/lesbian, people from different areas). One thing this transit guarantees is personal evolution; we evolve through these relationships, as they uncover areas of our personalities we often keep hidden, and will teach you about personal intimacy. If partners separate, the passion and intensity they once shared is difficult to forget.
The relationships under this transit can also be financially or sexually exploitative, or even emotionally/sexually abusive, as Pluto represents domination, power, and control. The people you attract under this influence are generally Scorpio-like/Plutonian, and the synastry often reveals strong Pluto aspects and/or Scorpio placements.
Outer Planet Transits to the 7th house
Outer planets transiting your natal 7th house is another excellentindicator you will find love. The 7th house has to do with marriage and partnership, so when you are receiving a 7th house transit, you feel more open to partnership, and your powers of attraction are heightened.
Jupiter transits your 7th house
Jupiter transiting your 7th house indicates luck and abundance in your relationship sector. If you are single, you will have better luck finding a partner during this time. You will find more opportunities for love available to you. You might attract people from different cultures or Sagittarius people during this time.
Saturn transits your 7th house
Saturn transiting your 7th house can bring a serious and restrained air to your relationship sector, but can bring in a serious, committed relationship if the time is right.
